The large clubhead and deeper box structure makes the broad sweet area of the shaft, forged by soft iron, possible. The balance weight design, by adopting tungsten steel alloy in the middle of its bottom, realizes the much lower center of gravity and higher MOI(moment of inertia). Restrain the sway by hitting, bring forceful flight and extend the flight distance

From Golfers:First of all, let me say this club is very well made. I know this is kind of personal, but the clubhead shape and size is perfect for me… not bulky bullet shaped aerodynamics, nor weird dented crown (like cobra’s or cleveland hi-bore’s). Just very classic. I bought this club at a very fair price (120 US$ used), and the clubhead was in mint condition. At first I was having problems with the grip (golf pride m-21) that felt way too thick for me. I’ve read on forums that many people think the same about this grip (maybe it is designed for thinner butt shafts).

Morover I have small hands, so a tendency to fade the ball increased to a slice that was driving me crazy. Clearly I was not “releasing” enough before impact because of this. So I switched to a thiner Taylor Made Grip (plus some corrections to my backswing), and problems are totally gone. Now I’m able to hit dead straight, or with a mild draw. The Fujikura shaft is very stable, and I’m not afraid to hit it harder, like with my previous driver. Raw distance is not really important for me (since I really need accuracy to improve my game), but with a 95 to 105 mph swing I’m able to fly the ball to some respectable 260 – 290 yards. I have not played a lot with the weights, because I’m not interested in correcting sidespin, but I would like to try other “neutral” setups in the future, specially 1-6 to decrease backspin (very valuable in windy conditions). One last thing: I also tried this driver with the stock Mizuno shaft, which is lighter, and I was able to hit it a little longer, but not as consistent as with the fuji shaft. This club will be in my bag for a long time (probably until mizuno releases something newer).

In such a case, you should pay a visit to http://www.mygolfwholesale.com for further information, as far as I know they supply golf clubs through a golf wholesale method.

Soft feel and stable Odyssey White Hot XG Putter

Soft feel and stable Odyssey White Hot XG Putter

Article by Golf Wholesale Shop

The White Hot XG 330 Mallet is a face-balanced mallet with Hi-Def Alignment stripes, a “crank-neck” hosel and full-shaft offset. The White Hot XG Rossie Blade is a modified face-balanced mallet with a double-bend shaft and full-shaft offset. As with Odyssey’s previous modern-mallet designs, stability is the key. Heavy alignment wings move the majority of weight to the outer edges of the putter, which dramatically increases the moment of inertia. White, black and red markings appear on the outer wings as well as the inner-alignment aid to help start the putter in the intended direction. The White Hot XG insert provides the soft feel and consistent roll that regular Odyssey users will be familiar with. This is a fine example of Odyssey at its best with a putter that could provide a welcome injection of confidence for anyone struggling on the greens. As ever with Odyssey’s White Hot inserts, the face is extremely soft – so long putts will need to be hit hard. However, it is from around 10ft and in where those having trouble on the greens will certainly notice the benefits of this extremely stable design. Golfers’ review:This putter has excellent feel, balance, and touch. Before I bough it, I was having trouble getting long putts close and holing short putts. It is perfect for lowering one’s score. After trying out quite a few putters I found that this was the one, the balance and the feel are superb and it looks pretty sexy as well! I would recommend this to anyone,I have tried about five different putters before I finally purchased an Odyssey. The Odyssey is by far the best. The white hot insert does two things; it keeps the ball on line, and keeps it distance on a mis-hit. Absolutely the very best putter I have ever had in my bag it is almost hard to miss putts with this thing. I bought this because I just could not find my line with my old Taylormade Rossa Ghost Daytona Putter. With this I find my line more often than not. The grip on this is amazing. The weight and balance is out standing I no longer sway side to side like with the old one. I have tried other odyssey’s and they are all great especially the 2 ball mallet. This is they only mallet I can hit consistently on line. The soft face provides great control on fast greens, even from long distance. I didn’t even practice with the putter before my first full round with it, but it felt so natural.Only been playing seriously for 4 months. Now with the right equipment I’m 2 putting almost every hole. After 3 rounds I actually sank a 40 footer to save par. Excellent feel, smooth roll on the ball.More information at http://www.ourgolfstore.com/goods-154-Odyssey+White+Hot+XG+Putter+2009.html

TaylorMade Burner XD Iron Set With Fantastic Distance

TaylorMade Burner XD Iron Set With Fantastic Distance

Article by Golfdiscountsale2

The Burner XD irons feature a stainless steel body for added perimeter weighting with a Titanium face welded to this frame. What you get is not only a hot face, but given the lightweight Titanium, extra mass around the club face to be moved low and away to create a hot, high launch ball flight. The TaylorMade Burner XD irons are the only irons with Burner speed, Burner power and Burner distance. Targeted at distance fanatics, the Taylormade Burner XD irons deliver up to eight more yards when compared to the average iron, thanks in part to their thin and flexible titanium faces.Features: 1. Thin, flexible and fast titanium clubfaces deliver higher COR (coefficient of restitution) for faster ball speed and therefore, longer distance. 2. SuperFast technology provides more clubhead speed for more ball speed and more distance. 3. Inverted Cone Technology is proven driver technology that expands the high COR zone for higher ball speed on mis-hits for more distance from shot to shot. 4. Extra large clubhead and a deep cavity give the Burner XD irons an ultra-high MOI (moment of inertia), making them extremely forgiveable and easy-to-hit.TaylorMade has packed a lot of that technology into the Burner XD irons. The company calls the Burner XD “The Only Iron with Burner Speed, Burner Power, and Burner Distance.””Super” is a description that is near and dear to the Burner marketing folks. The Burner XD irons feature “Supersized” clubheads and “SuperFast Technology.” The first helps make them forgiving and the second is all about distance. The R7 CGB Max and Burner XD irons have the same offset across the board. Visually, it almost looks as if the Callaway X-20s have a tad more offset in the 7 iron at least, but that may just be an optical illusion kind of thing going on. If you have a problem with slicing the ball, not being able to turn it over, the offset should help straighten things out for you, especially in the longer irons. If you’re accustomed to playing with little to no offset, you may pull and/or hook the ball a bit, until you can adjust to it. Not a huge deal. The first ball I hit with these irons was a 145 yard PW that just seemed to fly forever. (PING G15 Driver) Normally I hit my PW about 135..in the summer. It’s a little colder now, the ball doesn’t fly quite as well. I put a decent swing on the club, certainly nothing perfect, the ball rocketed off the face, pretty high, landed around 145. Crazy. Now, that being said, the lofts on the Burner XD irons are jacked up a bit. At 44*, you’re almost playing a 9 iron that has been labeled a PW. (Ping G15 Hybrid) The ball did still get way up there though, and stopped very quickly. I liked the more upright lie angle, this helps prevent the toe from digging in and hitting shots out to the right for the average player. The trajectory was a little lower than I would have expected for all the weight placed behind the ball, but it was manageable. I found that working the ball was not an option unless your idea of working it is to hit a head high duck hook!Suffice it to say, I was consistently hitting these irons what I’d call “summer distance,” though almost all of my rounds with these were in cooler temperatures. I felt pretty safe playing these to go five to 10 yards farther than a good shot with my irons. All in all, the Burner XDs do what they are supposed to do. They launch the ball on a mid to high trajectory, and they are pretty long as irons go. But really the best thing about the Burner irons is that you can make less than stellar contact all day long, and it won’t hurt you too badly. If these had a more solid feel to them, they’d probably sell a ton of them.More information at http://www.mygolfcheap.com/cheap-TaylorMade-Burner-XD-Iron-Set-906.html

The Best Golf Drivers

The Best Golf Drivers

Considering the variety of golf clubs available, you may find everyone from golf amateurs to golf professionals debating which golf clubs and golf drivers are the “best”. It is a question that, in many cases, boils down to personal choice, budget, and performance. This debate has been further intensified by the improvements in golf driver technology. Adjustments in aerodynamics, size of the clubs, launch angle and certain sweet spot modifications all play a role in constructing the perfect driver.

However, while searching for an answer to this elusive question, it is a good idea to keep in mind what the golf driver is specifically intended for. Your driver is the longest and lowest lofted club in your bag, and it should be the lightest club you own. Your driver is designed for the longest range and is frequently used from the tee making it one of the most important clubs in your bag.

Construction

The engineering involved in making of a golf driver is a complicated process that takes into account different aspects such as volume, moment of inertia, center of restitution, and center of gravity. Moment of inertia explains how resistant the club is to twisting. Overall, the less it twists the more stable it is, and the straighter and further the ball will go. Center of gravity measures how bouncy the club is during impact.

Generally, a center of restitution of “1” bounces perfectly with no loss of energy while a center of restitution of “0” means that the club has little elasticity and sticks to the ball on impact. Try to position the center of restitution and center of gravity high vertically. To position the center horizontally and back away from the face of the club, you need to carefully reposition your weight.

Materials to Consider

When making a choice about which golf driver to purchase, it is a good idea to consider the weight and length of the shaft, and how the head of the club is shaped. Initially, golf drivers were constructed from wood. Today, however, many modern drivers are made from stainless steel, titanium, or an alloy material.

Of the available materials, alloy golf drivers are typically one of the most inexpensive. Alloy drivers are high quality and are very affordable which makes them popular with beginners. Stainless steel is another inexpensive option. Stainless steel makes the driver heavy yet reliable and extremely durable as well. Stainless steel heads are generally smaller, but a golfer is assured a solid strike each time the ball is hit. For this reason many veteran golfers use stainless steel as the additional weight allows them more control over their swing.

As far as price goes, on the other end of the scale are titanium drivers. Titanium drivers are expensive due to the fact that, besides being one of the newest developments in golf technology, titanium is a lightweight and long lasting material. Titanium makes the club head extremely lightweight and, the lighter the club head, the faster the swing. Titanium drivers can also help to increase tee distance.

A titanium golf driver can be a beginner golfer’s best friend. Titanium drivers are “forgiving” as well, which means that the club will correctly adjust an imperfect swing. Titanium drivers are also a popular choice with professional golf players, as they are the lightest and strongest.

A driver constructed out of a combination of titanium and other non-metallic materials generally has a smaller head than a pure titanium driver, yet they are still very lightweight. Composite drivers allow the weight to remain centered near the face of the club. Composite drivers are considered by some to be the best drivers available.

The materials used in the club head are not the only consideration you should think about when purchasing clubs. The material the shaft is made from is also important. The shaft needs to stay intact and not break while giving ‘spring in the swing.’ For this reason, graphite is commonly used in shaft construction as it is strong and lightweight which helps not only with breakage, but also affects club head speed and distance. Stainless steel, which is more rigid and much heavier, does suit a few golf players, but usually graphite is the preferred choice of most golfers.

The Evolution of the Driver

Considered the second most important club in a golfer’s arsenal, the driver has changed by leaps and bounds over the years. One thing that stands out is how much bigger the head has become, as well as the shaft. Today’s modern driver is typically made from highly flexible graphite. The only reason a club head can be as large as they are today is because of the lightweight and durable materials available for construction. Titanium, in particular, influences the spring when hitting the ball.

Would You Be in Trouble for Callaway FT-5 Driver?

Would You Be in Trouble for Callaway FT-5 Driver?

Article by Cheapgolf

When it comes to golf drivers, players are often looking for the latest technology mixed with tradition. A lot of golfers seem to look for drivers that are customized to their personal playing style as well.

An example of a driver that incorporates advanced technology with a traditional club is the Callaway FT-5 Driver. It is an evolution in club head design utilizing Callaway’s revolutionary Fusion Technology.

The Callaway FT-5 Driver features the proprietary Fusion Technology that creates an unprecedented 50 grams of discretionary weight which is strategically positioned for a high Moment of Inertia (MOI) and precise lateral location of the centre of gravity (CG). This provides exceptional stability on off-centre hits, while enabling ball flight customization for optimal individual performance. The 25-gram weight located at the rear of the driver lowers the CG for optimal trajectory.

It also comes with the OptiFit Weighting System that enable golfers to customize their driver by giving them three CG locations to choose from in most lofts such as Draw for promoting a draw or reducing a slice/fade; Neutral for maximum workability; or Fade for promoting a fade or reducing a hook/draw. The larger, more robust CT/VFT (modified version of VFT Technology) Titanium cup face is designed specifically to maximize performance to the legal limit, as defined by the USGA Characteristic Time test, resulting in increased ball speed, distance and forgiveness, even on miss-hits.

The FT-5 Driver has a slightly open face for a look preferred by more accomplished players for producing exceptional distance, performance, accuracy and confidence. It also has a 460cc head volume is incorporated with a longer, wider and hotter face for more confidence at address, a higher MOI and increased ball speed for longer, straighter drives. The head is made in 9, 10, 11, and 13 degree lofts. Loft usually is measured in degrees, of the angle at which the face of the club lies relative to a perfectly vertical face. Technically, iron loft and wood loft are measured slightly different, but the effective result is the same. Loft gives you an idea of how far and how high the ball will go. It also comes with the standard Fujikura E-150 shaft which has a 45 inches length. This shaft comes in light, regular and stiff.

The driver itself looks a little cleaner than the origional FT-3, it was a little longer from front to back that gave it a little more modern shape without going to extremes like the FT-i. When I hit it, boy did it hit hard! The ball went high and straight as advertised and had more carry than any other driver I had tried. I was testing the 9* Stiff version and also got to hit their tour model. The tour model features a higher center of gravity, square to open face with neutral to fade weighting. This allows the better player to work the ball better and really get through the ball without the fear of hitting a big hook! I was able to work the ball with both, but had a better time hitting a draw with the standard version and a better time hitting a fade with the tour version for obvious reasons.

Overall, a solid driver that offers a lot of technology and more options than Baskin-Robbins. The Callaway FT-5 might feel different, sound different and hurt the wallet but there aren’t many better drivers on the market.

Ping Putters

Ping Putters

However you play your game or how high or low your golf handicap is there is certain to be a Ping Putter that will enhance your short game.

As far back as 1959, when the first putter was created in engineer, Karsten Solheim’s garage for his own personal use, Ping Putters have been assisting golfers to make the money shots. Named after the distinctive sound or ping on impact, Ping putters hit the right tone with golfers who insist on a satisfying resonance when the golf ball is struck.

Ping Putters are custom fitted to suit each golfer’s own golf game and Ping are considered to present a fitting service, which is second to none within the golfing industry and because your game is played differently to your neighbours, partners or best friends, then so will your Ping Putter be different to the one other golf’s may be matched with.

The i-Series® Ping Putters:

Ping Putters within the i-series® are available in conventional, mid and long lengths, so that a golfer may have the option of removing excessive wrist and hand actions by opting for a longer shaft. The putters feature inserts, which achieve the soft feel golfers prefer, coupled with greater alignment, for ease of shot, and varying balances, from the i-series® Craz-E face balance to the ½ Craz-E heel-toe balance.

The Redwood ® series of Ping Putters:

The Redwood® series of putters are milled from superior (303) stainless steel and feature a traditional putter look. Named Redwood after Redwood City, California, where Karsten created his first putter and is Ping’s tribute to what Karsten Solheim had achieved all those years ago. Redwood® putters are available in two finishes: Black satin or black nickel.

The Karsten® Series:

Ping has paid tribute to their founder and creator of the first Ping putter by naming this series after Karsten Solheim, himself. Models within this range benefit from increased sound and feel, a higher MOI (moment of inertia), as well as, greater forgiveness and alignment aids that will help all levels of golfer sink the shot.

When Karsten Solheim created the first Ping Putter (to improve his own game) he could have hardly conceived how influential Ping Putters would one day be in the game of golf, to all golfers at every level of play.

Ping Putters are available in traditional clubhead styles and lengths, as well as, in untraditional styles and lengths, too. Ping Putters are available from Golfbuyitonline, who offer a Ping custom fit to ensure that your Ping Putter is matched and fitted to enhance how you play the game.

The most viewed Ping G15 clubs review

The most viewed Ping G15 clubs review

Ping G15 golf clubs, with thinner and longer club head, increased stability, make great shots. This innovation has also increased the height of your golf shots and decreased the spinning of your golf ball while in midair. The moment of inertia or MOI of your golf shots are likewise increased.

Another common innovation present in the entire G15 line of PINGs is the redistribution of weight, shifting the center of gravity closer to the golf club face. This results in the increase of weight in the bottom of the club without sacrificing swing speed. Ultimately, this also helps with your golf shot trajectory and lessens the spin of your golf ball.

And, last but not the least, the look and feel of the G15 golf clubs is a big improvement over the G10 set of clubs. A redesigned full cavity graphics badge (instead of the old moon-shaped ones) makes your golf swings feel softer and your golf shots sound more solid. These three innovations allow you to have superior control over your shots.

The Ping G15 golf club line come with a G15 Driver, G15 3-Wood, the G15 5-Wood, PING G15 Irons (from the sand wedge to the 3-iron), and the G15 Utility/Hybrid Club.

If you are a current Ping G10 or Ping G5 user, you should definitely consider upgrading to the latest Ping G15. Technology and materials have improved and it will make a difference in your golf game. Besides, wouldn’t you want to be the first on the block with the hottest set of G15 clubs?
