Align The ClubfaceOne of the most common mistakes amateurs make is improper alignment. Some think they should align their feet at the target, others try to get their shoulders parallel to it. Hey, some golfers try to align everything at the target! They’re all wrong.The correct way to align your shots is to always begin by first assessing your target from behind the ball. This will give you a perspective of the entire hole and help you aim right where you want the ball to go. Secondly, before you make your actual stance, set the clubface behind the golf ball and align it directly at the target. Do this before, not after, you get into your stance. PGA Tour players have a knack for aligning the clubhead in this fashion. Pay attention to how they do it the next time you tune in.After you have the right clubface alignment, then comes time to situate the rest of your body. Most players benefit from aligning their lower body left of the target line and their upper body parallel to the target line. There’s actually no right answer as to what works best for you, but one thing is for sure. Aligning your body directly at the target rarely works. It usually leads to crossovers and over-the-top swings. Keep your body aiming left of the target line, and experiment with what works best for you. But be sure to align that face of PING G20 Irons first!Choose The Right ClubMost amateurs choose what club to use based on length. On shorter holes, they use shorter clubs. Longer holes, longer clubs; and so on. But better players know there’s more to selecting the right club such as the PING G20 Irons is a good choice than that. It also includes things like natural shot tendencies, wind, hazards and whether or not hidden dangers lurk in prime landing areas. But most of all, a better player looks at what type of approach shot is to follow. The hole may be only 365 yards long, but with a good drive, that leaves a touchy 70- to 80-yard approach. Who wants that? The right play would be to avoid awkward distances and hit a 3-wood, leaving a full wedge approach. Lastly, a better player acknowledges that a shot with a 3-wood has a greater likelihood of hitting the fairway than a driver shot does. Play With The Wind, Not Against ItMany amateurs fret about playing in the wind, but better players know how to use wind to their advantage. For instance, better players know that no matter what type of shot you’d normally play, whether it’s a draw, fade or whatever, how the wind blows changes everything. You have to make adjustments to make the wind work for you, instead of trying to hit a shot by PING G20 Ironsto fight against it. I’ve seen that happen time and time again with amateurs.Put it this way, no matter how big a fade or draw you’re capable of hitting, it’s likely the wind will always win. So what do you do? Play with it! In the photo above, I’ve got a stiff wind blowing from right to left. Instead of battling it, I’ve opted to hit a drawing tee shot with hopes that the wind works alongside me to move the ball from right to left. Also, since I’m playing with the wind and not against it, it’s likely my draw will be more pronounced, so I need to make sure I aim farther right to allow for it. And by the way, if, by chance, my natural ballflight was a fade, instead of hitting a draw, I’d play for a straight shot and aim a little less right of the target. Either way, I’m letting the wind move the ball back into the fairway. Lastly, when playing in the wind, no matter which way it’s blowing, don’t think you need to swing any harder than normal. Just accept the fact that wind is blowing, and although it may be in an undesirable direction, the key is to avoid going to war with it just play the PING G20 Irons. This will foul up your rhythm and tempo, not to mention your scorecard.

Since around 1990 there have been around five thousand different designs for golf balls, so choosing the right one can be a stressful decision for any golfer. Golf companies are competing around the clock to try and perfect the art of the golf ball, to create the perfect ball that combines long distance and perfect control. So if golf companies are having such a hard time creating the perfect ball, how are golfers supposed to know which ones to buy? Hopefully I can give you a couple pointers in this article that will help you pick out a suitable ball for your game.There are so many different types of golfers, some golfers like to play a draw, others a fade, some are power hitters and others are pure control. With so many types of golfers out there, the golf ball companies have tried to create different balls that play to different strengths. If you can find the ball that best suits your game, you will not only hit better shots, but will have a lot more fun on the course. And what is more important than enjoying your round? Nothing.Balls that are made for distance are made of two pieces. These balls are made from a very hard material that is also resistant to cuts. They have a small ball in the center that is made from a variety of materials, but the one common thing about them is that they are very tight. The harder the inner ball is, the farther a ball will travel. These hard surfaced balls are also known for their lack of spinning ability, which makes them much harder to control.Balls that are better for control and spinning ability are made up of three pieces. The inside is still tight like in the long distance balls, but the outer layer is much softer, and the third piece that the distance balls are missing is a layer of fabric between the soft shell and the tight ball. This layer helps soften the hit of the club, which makes the ball travel less distance.There are middle of the road balls as well, that are good for distance and control. These balls have multiple layers. They have the tight inside, and a somewhat soft outside. Then there are layers in between that are not as soft as the control balls’ middle layer.So what kind of ball should you choose for your game? That depends on what type of player you are. If you are beginner or have a high handicap then you probably will not hit the ball perfectly every time. This means you need to worry less about distance and focus on controlling your shots. If you an experienced golfer you will likely want to choose the multiple layered ball. Because you probably have great swing speed, you will not lose out on much distance, and you will be able to use your skills to control the ball and make it do whatever you want. You should try out different ball types to see what best fits your game, but use my guidelines to help you decide what type of ball you think might work out best.

When I mention the word basics in my golf lessons, players start thinking about things like grip, posture, ball position, alignment, and so on. That’s only natural. Golf pros talk so much about these subjects in golf instruction sessions that players assume they’re the focus when the discussion comes round to the basics of a golf shot.
But there are four other basics–plane, centering, radius, and face–that key good ball striking. Players must master the four factors to cut their golf handicaps down to size. These factors, which are sometimes neglected in golf lessons and golf tips, determine consistency. If you’re off with these even slightly, you’ll slice, hook, or mis-hit the shot, regardless of your grip, posture, ball position, or alignment.
Plane:
Plane is the angle your club takes at address. Your swing should have a circular look to it when viewed from a face on perspective. The swing won’t be a pure circle, but it will have a recognizable circular shape. Looking from down the target line, the circle should be tilted the same angle as the clubshaft as it sits at address. This area encompasses the most direct and powerful route back to the golf ball.
The club must remain in this defined plane as it approaches the golf ball on the downswing. While your swing plane may change from waist high in your downswing to waist high in your finish, your club must go through the original plane at address to hit straight shots solidly. So while you may see some odd looking swings by Tour players, you’ll also see that they always return the club to the same plane of address at the bottom of their swings.
Face:
Face is the second important factor. To gain control over the clubface at the moment of impact, your hands must be at the same position when you make contact with the ball as at address or may be a bit forward. Returning your hands to the same position guarantees that your clubface is pointing in the same direction as when you set up to hit the ball.
There are three ways you can hold the club at address–with your hands on the left side of the grip (weak), the middle of the grip (neutral), or the right hand side of the grip (strong) for right-handers. The best grip is the one you can produce naturally shot, after shot, after shot. If you look closely at the pros, you’ll see players with different grips, yet they still hit consistently straight shots. Why? Because the way you grip the club matters less than the how your hands are at address. If you have a strong grip at address, you better not have a weak grip when making impact; otherwise, you’ll end up with either an opened or a closed clubface at impact.
Radius
Radius is the distance from your left shoulder (for right handers) to the end of the clubshaft. In other words, it is the distance from the center of your golf swing to the outer-edge. Your lead arm must be in line with or trailing your arm at impact, known as “maintaining radius.” Bobby Jones, the great amateur, called this “good timing.”
Maintaining radius enables you to strike the ball solidly. Many recreational players that I give golf lessons to try to force the shaft of the club past the lead arm prior to impact. This effort causes the clubface to travel up not down, resulting in a fat or thin shot. A loss of radius causes a hook, slice, loss of distance, and wide assortment of other poor shots.
Centering:
Centering refers to the spine and head at address. While you may have some lateral movement of your head and spine in your swing, consistent hitters keep these areas, or their centers, steady. A steady center involves two things. From a down-the-line-look, the amount that you bend forward from your hips at address is constant throughout your swing. From a face-on perspective, your center (spine and head) remains as constant as possible as well. Your swing, as I’ve explained in my golf tips, revolves around your center.
While the basics like grip, posture, ball position, and alignment are important, they only prepare you to take your swing. They increase your chances of hitting a golf ball when the more important basics are in order, producing accurate, solid shots. To lower your golf handicap, you must the other “basics” of the swing–plane, fact, radius, and center.

The very first and basic basics of golf will be on the balls of one’s feet with your own knees flexed plus your feet about shoulder-width away. These three fundamentals are very important to the golfing technique. If your feet are past an acceptable limit apart, you can’t shift your unwanted weight properly and whether they are too close up, you will lose balance. If your hip and legs are too straight without having flex, you are not likely to be in control within the golf ball. Poor posture equals the wrong golf swing.
Here is the proper way to set-up. First, stand straight in your feet about shoulder-width separated. Your feet needs to be slightly open utilizing your left toe, your right should your a lefty, a bit more open than ones right foot. This will make it faster and easier to turn a lower body through impact.
Your right shoulder could be a little not up to your left get. This will insure that it is much easier so that you can grip your club, as well when, put you in your right position. Future, bend from the actual waist and maintain your spine angle direct. Don’t bend over too much and don’t make your shoulders drawback, you’ll want to hold your spine angle straight all over the golf swing. At present, bend your joints slightly and always keep them bent, as you have the swing. Shift weight to your foot, as you complete your swing. If you have done this effectively, you should complete facing your aim at and in sense of balance. If your can be falling back or off from the ball, you’re not shifting unwanted weight properly to your foot. This is an exceedingly common problem with lots of beginners and fixing this tends to make a tremendous difference on your golf game. Use these 2 golf drills to help you get there. They will seem awkward to begin with, but try it unless you want to begin to have it. First, when an individual set-up, lean and put almost all of your weight within your front foot as well as hit some tennis balls.
This will provide help to learn how to get your weight onto your front foot. Another trick will be to place a baseball underneath the outer edge of this back foot. Stand onto it and make a number of swings and hit just a few balls and this will all but force want you to shift your weight onto your front foot.Another tip that i learned from watching Tiger woods is to stick your bottom out.
