How to Golf begins with your Set-up

How to Golf begins with your Set-up

Article by Keith Barker

How to golf begins with your set-up. The very first and basic fundamentals of golf are to be on the balls of your feet with your knees flexed and your feet about shoulder-width apart. These three fundamentals are crucial to the golf game. If your feet are too far apart, you can’t shift your weight properly and if they are too close, you will lose your balance. If your legs are too straight with no flex, you are not going to be in control of the golf ball. Poor posture equals a bad golf swing. Here is the proper way to set-up. First, stand straight with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Your feet should be slightly open with your left toe, your right if your a lefty, a little more open than your right foot. This will make it a lot easier to turn your lower body through impact. Your right shoulder should be a little lower than your left shoulder. This will make it much easier for you to grip your club, as well as, put you in the right position. Next, bend from the waist and keep your spine angle straight. Don’t bend over too far and don’t let your shoulders slump, you’ll want to keep your spine angle straight throughout the golf swing. Now, bend your knees slightly and keep them bent, as you go through the swing. Shift your weight to your front foot, as you complete your swing. If you have done this correctly, you should finish facing your target and in balance. If your are falling back or away from the ball, you’re not shifting your weight properly to your front foot. This is a very common problem with a lot of beginners and fixing this will make a tremendous difference in your golf game. Use these two golf drills to help you get there. They will seem akward at first, but try it until you begin to get it. First, when you set-up, lean and put most of your weight on your front foot and hit some balls. This will help you to learn how to end up with your weight on your front foot. Another trick is to place a golf ball underneath the outer edge of your back foot. Stand on it and make some swings and hit a few balls and this will all but force you to shift your weight onto your front foot.Another tip that I learned from watching Tiger Woods is to stick your rear end out. Yes, you heard me right. This will help to counter-balance your top half and it will help you to keep your spine angle straight and to keep you in form. Also, remember that your neck is an extension of your spine, so keep your chin up because if your head slumps, it will restrict your backswing. You always here, keep your head down. No, keep your chin slightly up and keep your eyes down on your ball through impact.Another golf tip that I want to add is to not stand to far away from your ball. This will cause stiffness and tension in the shoulders and will probably result in a slice. You should never be reaching for your ball. After setting up your stance, just let your arms hang freely and that’s where you grip your golf club. The longer the club, the farther you’ll stand from your ball, but your arms position will remain the same. These golf tips should make quite an impact on your game. See you on the blog side.

Toweling Nappies and how to put them on Ba

Toweling Nappies and how to put them on Ba

Article by Tom Schavo

Toweling nappies are a once only buy which makes them more economic. They come in variety of absorbency and qualities. The more absorbent the nappy the more expensive it is. It is held together with special pins and covered with reusable plastic pants to prevent leakage.

One way liner can be placed inside the nappy to help keep your baby dry; this method also has the added advantage of allowing you to flush any motion down the lavatory with minimum of bother.

How to put on a toweling nappy: Toweling nappy can be folded in a variety of ways to suit the age and sex of your child.

Step 1: Fold Nappy and place a linear in the center. Lay your baby on the nappy with top edge at waist. Now bring nappy up between the baby legs.

Step 2: Holding the nappy in place, fold one side over the central panel and secure with a nappy pin.

Step 3: Fold the other side into the middle and secure. Always keep your finger between the nappy and your baby’s skin when inserting the pin so that there is no risk of pricking your baby.

Step 4: Once the nappy is securely in place you may want to put on a pair of protective plastic pants. Try not to get cross if your baby wets clean nappy immediately and you have to start all over again.

When working out the price of toweling nappies, you need to take into account the cost of washing powder, the electricity used for washing and drying them, sterilizing solution, plastic wraps, nappy liners and clips.

Toweling nappies are harder work than disposables because they need washing, so a washing machine and tumble dryer will make life easier for you. The nappies also need to be sterilized, rinsed, washed and dried. Then they should be aired before being reused.

These Golf Exercises Will Have You Hitting It Like Tiger.not That The Golf Ball Silly

These Golf Exercises Will Have You Hitting It Like Tiger.not That The Golf Ball Silly

The old days of the unfit golfer have gone for ever .Even if you are just a social golfer doing simple routines that will improve your game make sense.

The golf strengthening and conditioning exercises I am going to give you on this page will improve your game and have you feeling fitter and stronger.

The game of golf is now played in a much more athletic way then is was in the past. Players like Tiger Woods and Greg Norman have brought athleticism and fitness to the game. The routines in the gym that modern players like Tiger and Greg use have proven to be just as important as the time they spend practising on course.

Along with some gym exercises I am also going to give you some great stretching exercises that you can do at home or the office.

I will start with the all time best stretching exercises for Golfers.

 Stretch 1: The Oblique Twist

STEP 1: Sit down and slowly lower your back on to the ground until you are as fat as a pancake. Put your hands out directly from your shoulders to form a t shape, then lower them a little so your hands are pointing about 1 foot wide of your feet.

STEP 2: Raise your legs up whilst keeping your torso completely still, and then lower both legs to one side of your body. The key thing is to keep your upper body quite straight and rigid, as this will strengthen your obliques.

STEP 3: Simply lift your legs back up to the centre position and then lower down again to the other side.

By holding, your legs in the centre position for 30 or 40 seconds each time you will further strengthen your core.

Think about this exercise and then think about the motion your body goes through when you are hitting a shot. The twist with each golf shot put pressure on the obliques so strengthening them up has to make sense.

Stretch 2: The Oblique push down

STEP 1: Lie flat on your back and then bend your knees in towards your buttocks. Lock your fingers and place them behind your neck. like you are about to do a sit up.

STEP 2: Twist your left shoulder towards your left knee until the middle part of your back begins to lift off the floor. Twist until you feel a strain on your abdominals and hold for about 20 seconds.

STEP 3: Return back to your starting position and repeat on the other side.

Dumbbell Exercises

 Exercise one: Wrist Grip Power

STEP 1: Grab a dumbbell with each hand that is light and grip tightly, then hold each weight down against your sides. Lift both weights upward until your elbows are at 90 degrees and hold for 5 seconds.

STEP 2: Whilst tensing your arms and forearms simply twist your wrists at the same time in and then out.

As simple as this exercise sounds it will strengthen you wrists quickly and give you more control when chipping and driving.

 Exercise Two: Stance Power

This exercise will strengthen your quads and your hamstrings, which both play a role when you drive a golf ball.

STEP 1: Stand with your feet shoulder length apart, and hold the same light pair of dumbbells. Lower the dumbbells down against your sides about 10 centimetres wide from your thighs.

STEP 2: Bend down at your knees and stabilize, then spring up into the air. Land down in the knees bent position when you come down and repeat for 20 repetitions.

Over the next few days, I will detail a number of additional golfing stretches and weight routines. The main muscle groups that we will cover in the routines are the hamstrings, glutes, quadriceps, trapezius, triceps, abdominals and the rectus.

Using the exercises described above with the additional ones that I would publish shortly about three times a week will improve your power and endurance quickly.

How to Putt Better In Golf Games

How to Putt Better In Golf Games

Article by Golfdiscountsale2

A lot of attention is given to driving; however, a game can be won or lost in a putt. Just as a good putt may make up for a less than perfect drive a bad putt can destroy any benefit that comes from a great one. The ability to make a good putt is essential. It makes a great deal of sense to put in the time to learn how to putt better in golf, for the future dividends that can be recouped.Select the right tool for the job. With so many good putters to choose from it can seem confusing and difficult to choose correctly. A good place to start would be to read putter reviews online and see what other people are having success or failure with. Many golf shops have an area where you can test out a putter before you buy it as well. Putting is a key part of the game, and your putter needs to become one of your best friends.Keep in mind that the movement of the putter is the direct result of the rotation of shoulders and neck. Hand and arms should be relaxed during the stroke. Excess movement may create a problem with accuracy. For a golfer to discover how to putt better in golf they first have to learn control. Putting is a skill of precision. The head, neck and lower body should remain motionless in the stroke. When you come to address the ball, make sure the putter’s head is behind the ball but above the green. Make sure the club head is not resting on the green, but hovering slightly above it. The last thing you want to do is strike the ground, as this will have disastrous results. Keep your legs spread a little wide and your feet straight and firm on the ground. Get your balance in check and get comfortable, and more importantly, confident.Such actions are largely the domain of the subconscious mind. It is a combination of will and skill. A normal progression when learning new skills applies equally to golf. The individual starts by being consciously terrible at golf, and then they become consciously good at it. The magic happens when finally they start to become unconsciously good at it, when all the movements come together. At this point they find themselves able to perform them without consciously thinking about what they are doing. To reach this stage requires lots of practice. There are many ways to do this. (TaylorMade Rescue Hybrid 2009) Try using several balls and hitting them a different distance. Use this drill to educate yourself about putting power versus distance. Remember accuracy is most important. A balance must be achieved. Practice, practice, and aim to learn a new drill every week.Creating a routine helps players perfect their putt. Choose a line and commit to it. This helps align the brain with the eyes, and consequently create a straighter putt. A common mistake is moving prematurely after the putt. Keep still until the putter halts and track the ball visually. If you’re busy however, it may seem like there’s not enough time in the day to fit all of these suggestions in. A great way to multiply the effect of whatever practice you do get is to use golf putting aids. These help you focus on the exact things needed to strengthen key areas of your game. It could be that your swing is more to the outside or inside, in which case there are laser guides or putting gates that help to make sure the swing is flawless and a flat face presented to the ball. (Mizuno MX-950 Irons) Those who just need practice may find putting mats and golf ball retrievers are an ideal combination to fit more of the practice that matters into a one or two hour session.Familiarize yourself with the way you must hold the grip for putting. Proper grip, as always, is a key component of your golf game in putting just as it is in the long game. Ensure you get back to basics by mastering stance, grip, and the motion of the swing. In putting the motion of the swing is best described like a pendulum. You must ensure there is no motion in the wrist, and instead focus on that smooth pendulum swing. Developing your muscle memory of that straight motion will help with consistency. Make sure that your hands move together with your arms, all in a single well-coordinated unit. The less varied your game is the better.Reduce your head movements to the minimum, and keep it motionless throughout the stroke so that you are concentrating on one thing, getting the ball in the hole. Don’t look up during the follow through but instead listen for the sound of the ball dropping. Many errors can creep in when players take their eyes off the swing too early. As with all things golf, practice always helps. Get in as much as you can. Train on the green until you can get the ball consistently to the hole. When it comes to any puts you make that are within eighteen feet, always aim to get them within eighteen inches of the hole. To master the art of reading the green, consider one side of the hole then the other. Things often look very different when you view them from behind your target.Practice makes perfect and the more practice the better. Try to implement these golf putting tips in your game, keep practicing, and keep playing. Success is just around the corner.

How Can I Get Rid of My Brown Spots?

How Can I Get Rid of My Brown Spots?

Article by Dr Mosaraf Ali

Question:

After the summer, I have suddenly become aware of a lot of disfiguring brown spots on only hands, legs and body. Is there a cream I could use to make them less noticeable or get rid of them please?

Answer:

The first thing to say is that if you are worried about your brown spots, you should, of course, consult your doctor or dermatologist immediately, because of the risk of skin cancer (especially if you have been in the sun a lot, without sun protection). Without actually looking at your ‘brown spots’, it’s hard to diagnose but here are some possibilities.

FrecklesThese are more common in people with fair skin, particularly with red hair, and are the result of a localized production of melanin, the pigment that gives your skin its colour. Small brown spots appear on areas of skin frequently exposed to sun.

Solar lentigosFlat paler brown patches that appear anywhere on the skin and affect most people as they get older. These are also referred to as age or liver spots, and usually affect people over 40. Unlike freckles, they appear on covered areas of the body, too, and don’t fade in winter. Lentigos are usually harmless but need watching as, over time, they can develop into malignant melanomas, i.e., skin cancer.

MolesThese flat or raised growths, which can run in families, may be rough or smooth and vary in colour from light to dark brown; they are caused by an overproduction of pigmented skin cells, called melanocpes, and can form anywhere on the body. They appear from birth onwards and most people have ten to 20 moles by the age of 30. There are several different types and they are usually non-cancerous but, again, should be regularly assessed by your doctor if you notice any changes.

Seborrhoeic keratoseAlso known as seborrhoeic warts, these are irregularly round or oval, flat-topped plaques that seem ‘stuck’ on to the skin; they usually occur more on the torso than on the hands or legs. In a fair-skinned person, they are light brown at first but become darker with time. They tend to grow often several millimeters across, and new ones may appear continually. Their margins are very distinct; the surface becomes warty, and may have small projections visible to the naked eye. Rubbing can cause them to ‘peel off’ and there could be some bleeding. People who have them often think they are malignant, but they are, in fact, harmless.

It is interesting to know something about the biology of the skin so you can understand more about why these different lesions appear. The skin is composed of three main layers. The outermost is the epidermis, consisting of two main cell types, called keratinocytes and melanocpes. The middle layer is the dermis, which has connective tissue, nerve endings, blood vessels, lymphatic vessels and many other cells like fibroblasts (which form scar tissue) and mast cells (which contain histamine and produce the allergic reactions on skin, eg, swelling rash, itching). The third layer is subcutaneous tissue and contains fat, which acts as a cushion between the outer layers and the muscles and bones. This layer gives the contour to your body shape. Unless there is a problem with these lesions, most physicians tend to leave them alone, but we have had several letters from concerned readers, so here are some tips that might help to contain them.

Start following the instructions as soon as you notice them on your skin.

DietAvoid foodstuffs that inflame the skin, such as citrus fruits, yeast products, cheese and mushrooms, and only drink alcohol in moderation.

Remedies

* Take three twigs kadu and one third teaspoonful kariatu powder; soak in a cup of hot water overnight, strain and drink first thing in the morning. Do this for two months.

* Buy an aloe vera plant and every evening slice a small part off the leaf, squeeze the pulp onto a saucer and with a fingertip apply gently on the spots until it’s absorbed bythe skin. Do this twice a week for two months. Alternatively, use pure aloe gel.

* A patient of mine, who is over 80 years old, used to go to a naturopath who told her to rub castor oil on her brown spots every, night, and she no longer has them on her face and arms. Since I have been recommending this to my patients some have said that the spots become less raised.

Sun protectionSome of these brown spots occur, or get worse, because of a sensitivity to sunlight, so always use appropriate suncare and apply it lavishly and regularly. (I prefer products that uses a physical barrier – rather than chemical – such as zinc oxide.)

Lower Your Golf Score – Tips to Drive the Golf Ball Straight

How to Drive a Golf Ball Straight

It’s a given that every golfer wants to know how to drive a golf ball straight. The challenge is the driver is one of the most difficult clubs to master. A simple rule of thumb is the longer the club, the harder it is to use properly. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to learn how to drive a golf ball straight; you’ll just need a few tips and some consistent practice.

The very best shot off the tee is one that does not impart a lot of backspin to the ball, travels low, and has enough power to add yards by rolling once it lands. If you can achieve all of these elements, your game will improve significantly.

One of the first steps to learning how to drive a golf ball straight

– is understanding the importance of leverage throughout the entire swing. To achieve proper leverage, keep your head behind the golf ball from address to impact.

The second most important issue is that distance comes more from club head speed than arm strength. Golfers who try to muscle their way through the shot will almost always end up with a poorly hit ball. It is the hips and legs that generate speed and power, so use them.

hit golf ball straightOther clubs may be somewhat flexible when it comes to swing path, but not the driver. As you begin your back swing, keep the swing plane low (or shallow).

Another factor to keep in mind when learning how to drive a golf ball straight is to have your hands lead the club head at impact. This is what people mean when they say to “let your wrists break”.

A common mistake some golfers make is to try to suddenly stop their swing once they hit the ball. To avoid that, let your arms and body move all the way through the swing, including the follow through.

Another key to learning how to drive a golf ball straight

– is to not grip the club too tightly. Concentrate on whipping the golf ball with the club rather than chopping at it.

If you have a tendency to slice the ball, try slowing your downswing. You may be coming down too fast or too hard, causing you to come out of the proper swing path. Another tip for avoiding the slice is to examine your grip. If you cannot see two or three knuckles when looking down at your grip, you are setting yourself up for a slice.

This same grip tip applies to those who hook the ball. If you look down at your grip and see more than two or three knuckles, your grip is going to change at impact and cause a severe hook.

One last tip for learning how to drive a golf ball straight is to make sure you are not pulling or pushing the ball. This can happen whether you are coming off the tee or hitting off the fairway.

You can tell if you are pushing or pulling the ball by looking at the divot that’s left behind. If the divot is pointing to the left or right of your target line, your body is not properly aligned.

Try implementing some of these tips and see if your game improves. Remember, the best tip for learning how to drive a golf ball straight is to keep at it.  One other thing is keeping your back muscles loose and from fatiguing.  One product that can help is AMR-7 arthritis and muscle pain relief gel by Performance Health, LLC.
