The muscle back lines and edges however are smoother on the MP-68than the MP-37 and some in Japan have said it reminds them of the classic MP-14 with its curved muscle back and sharp toe. Mizuno has also followed suit with its 2009 design guidlines by placing the running bird logo on the sole and the model MP-68 with new MP logo in the toe corner. The overall head and face is very compact and coupled with the thick muscle provide the purest feel of any Mizuno grain flow forged blade.Upon first look the MP-68s are just another set of blades from Mizuno. They have been forging these things forever, or so it seems. The grain-flow forged heads always offer the softest feeling shots of any club on the market. They combine that awesome feeling with stunningly simple looks. These things are just a given from Mizuno.

But it is the centimeters that make the MP-68s different. The first indication of difference is the size. These are not tiny little butter knives; these are more like a good steak knife. It little bigger and a little bolder. By no mean, bulky, but just a little bigger overall. I compared them to a couple of other blades I have and these were longer and taller than the others.

The muscle back portion also has a couple centimeters of difference. Right in the middle behind the sweet spot, the muscle is shaved-out some and moved to the bottom for a little deeper, lower COG. As the muscle nears the toe, it is angle notched to cut just a little weight from the toe area, leaving a perfectly balanced head.

Tips For Picking The Right Golf Driver For Your Game

Tips For Picking The Right Golf Driver For Your Game

Article by Niyaz Kazi

One of the most frustrating aspects of golf is the idea that you can shave off a few unneeded strokes, but you don’t know how. Sometimes, you can take a look at your driver; the driver is crucial in setting up each hole. Here are some tips for picking the right golf driver for your game.

1.The club head – The best club head size for your game is determined in your decision in the balance between control and the size of the “sweet spot”, which is the area that provides the best hit in a shot. The smaller sizes range from 150 to 155 cubic centimeters and are considered standard; they provide the most control but have a smaller sweet spot. Midsized club heads are about 195 cubic centimeters and are moderate in both control and sweet spot size. Oversized heads are any ones larger than midsized. They give the largest sweet spot, but are harder to control, partly because of the sheer weight.2.The shaft – Choosing a shaft is a two-step process. First, you must decide between graphite and steel shafts. Then, you must choose a flex level. The decision between materials relies on your experience and end goals. Steel shafts are strong, durable, and offer control; however, you must be strong in order to produce the same distance that graphite does. Overall, stronger players should use steel shafts if control isn’t quite up to par. Graphite shafts are versatile but expensive. They are less durable and offer less control, but require less strength.

Flex, as the name implies, is the flexibility of the shaft. There are five basic levels of flex in golf: L for Ladies, A for Seniors, Regular, Stiff, and Extra Stiff. Flexible shafts provide more power, which is a great aspect for beginning players as well as those with weaker swings. However, as shafts become less and less flexible, there is more control available. This is why stronger players should drift towards the Stiff and Extra Stiff flex levels; that is, if you have a 90-110 MPH swing, try out the stiffer two levels. Average swings are around 75-90 MPH, and players with those swings should stick with the regular level for now.3.The weight and length – Obviously, the basic characteristics of weight and length should be considered. Basically, lighter clubs give faster swing speeds and farther hits. This translates into a simple concept: Players with stronger swings choose heavier clubs for more control. Lighter drivers work better for those without stronger swings.

The length of the driver is another decision in the balance between control and distance. Drivers with a length of 43 to 44 inches are considered traditional. Drivers 45 to 46 inches long can give a slightly longer distance. Any longer than 46 inches poses the opportunity to have a greatly increased potential for distance as well as a greatly decreased range of control.

Many of the aspects that must be considered depend on your swing and willingness to sacrifice control for other benefits. These are your tips for picking the right golf driver for your game.

How To Improve Your Golf Swing-Neutralise Your Golf Grip

How To Improve Your Golf Swing-Neutralise Your Golf Grip

One way to improve your golf swing is to neutralise your golf grip.Firstly you will only hook the golf ball if you swing the club face closed at impact. The majority of golfers that hook the ball display a ‘strong grip’,where the hands are too far to the right of the handle.Golfers will swing the club too much from the inside of the line, with the hands, arms and body struggling to hold the clubface open at impact.Weakening the grip will help stop the club face closing on impact.
Secondly,a common fault with a lot of golfers is the stance. The width of stance will vary slightly
according to the golf club you are using. As a general guideline,i recommend that the stance for the 5-iron should correspond to the width of your shoulders.Check your stance regularly when you practise.A wide stance will give you good stability but less mobility.A narrow stance will give you more mobility but less stability.
Thirdly, getting your posture right will make playing the game easier. The reason for this is that your posture controls the balance points in your swing, and good balance is key in helping you develop your game.
Start by placing your thumbs on your hip joints, this is to where you bend from the hip joint.
From there lean forward putting your weight on the front of your feet. Finally flex your knees, feeling the pressure on your thighs.Hope this helps, happy golfing.

Your Golf Swing Starts with the Back Swing – Learn to Perfect It

Ready to perfect your golf back swing? You’ve come to the right place.

better back swing tipsThere is no reason your takeaway phase of the swing has to be complicated or difficult. We’ve compiled some golf back swing tips that cover the most important aspects and can be put into action right now.  These tips are are great for any age.  We have taught these tips to young golfers just starting out but it works for any age and any level of play.

Of the many golf back swing tips you will hear or read about, one is crucial. To make a successful shot, you have to play the ball correctly in your stance. Every shot you make has a proper ball position, and you should learn these as soon as possible.

When you take stance, make sure your hands are gripping the club properly. Most players use a neutral grip, neither too weak nor too strong. Do not choke the club too tightly—strive for a firm grip.

Another important golf back swing tip is to put a little flex in your knees. This allows your hips, which are the power behind every shot, to turn fully.

Keep both arms straight as you bring the club back. This promotes a constant distance between the club head and your hands. If you start bending your arms too early, the distance will shorten and will need to be corrected before impact. This can be prevented by keeping both arms straight during the first part of the takeaway.

When the club and your hands are about waist high, your right arm must bend at the elbow. As you start your takeaway motion, try not to allow your hands to rotate. This will achieve a wide arc as you bring the club back.

Swing speed is key to distance, however, back swing should be slow and easy

As your hands get to waist level, you should also turn your upper body and shoulders. Continue this motion until the club is at the top of your back swing. This coiling action generates the energy needed at impact. Many players have trouble mastering the skill of turning the hips until the top is reached. If that is true for you, try some flexibility exercises for your hips, legs, and shoulders.

Another effective golf back swing tip is to know where your “top” is. The top of the swing differs from one person to the next. Some players are able to bring the club well past parallel at the top, while others cannot make it all the way up. No matter where you fall on that scale, it is important to get the maximum height possible, as this will greatly increase the club head speed on the way down.

The last tip involves the transition that leads into the downswing. Avoid jerking the club; maintain smooth movements and initiate the downward swing with your hips, not your hands.

The first part of the overall swing is vital, because it sets up all subsequent movements.

If you find that you are missing a lot of shots, keep these golf back swing tips in mind. Often, a missed shot can be caused by something that went wrong in the first part of the swing. If possible, have an experienced golfer watch you as you do a few slow motion swings. This is the fastest and more effective way to pinpoint and resolve a problem.
