The Best Way to Choose Golf Equipments Lesson

The Best Way to Choose Golf Equipments Lesson

Golf is a sport that is not easy to master. One can have a smooth, fluid backswing, turn back to the ball in perfect fashion and then leave clubface a degree open and the ball goes sailing behind Junior’s Pig Farm. And good golf irons are very important.

It’s hard to stare down at that non-moving, little, white ball and not want to crush it. A beautifully executed drive is what all of us desire, strive for and obsess over. Just like all sports, the sound of perfect contact is a sound and feel worth striving for. How to achieve that is not easy with all the books, magazines, training devices, golf pros, clubs and balls that are out there to confuse us. To make matters worse there is this guy named Tiger that we all want to be like.

We’ve all had that round where everything is working perfect; we swing on plane, our putting stroke is aligned and our feel around the green is spot on. However, we come back the following week and something changes; we feel cocky and swing harder, our putts sail way past the hole and we shank every pitch shot. The frustration keeps us up at night so much so that we spend the following days and weeks buried in all sorts of books, videos and magazines to find the perfect tip to correct our ailing golf game.

We’ve all been there and we’ve all suffered the same problems. When this happens, we turn to pros for help. There are those of us that have read Ben Hogan’s “Five Lessons” and Harvey Penick’s “Little Red Book.” Some of us have studied the images in Jack Nicklaus’ “Golf my Way” and stored in memory the fixes found in David Leadbetter’s “Faults and Fixes.”

Dave Pelz’s is there to help us with our short game in his book “Short Game Bible”. Annika Sorenstam helps the girls in “Golf Annika’s Way.” John Daly will help you learn how not to live your life. Michael Murphy’s “Golf in the Kingdom” explores the beauty and mystery of this game called golf. (This is my personal favorite)

]]>

There are books on fixing slices, shanks, hook, chunks, chili dips and even our heads. Now some of us are not much for reading so we turn to videos and dvd’s to help us along. Some need to see how to swing, act and play the game correct. I prefer this method to get a feel for rhythm and swing path.

So we turn on the TV, watch Tiger and Phil for a bit, make our way to the driving range and swing our little hearts out. After buckets of balls and blisters on each hand, we figure out, we are not these guys. So we go home and search for more advice.

We read articles in magazines, on the internet and try our hand at more fixes. We test these out and search for more. One day we step foot in a pro shop and run across an amazing new training aid that will cure our golf game woes forever.

Who hasn’t strapped on a “Straight Arm Sleeve” or wrestled with an “Impact Ball?” Some of us have wiggled into the “Perfect Connextion” and stood on Hank Haney’s “Step Minder” and felt unconnected to say the least.

Nick Faldo tries to help with his “Step2 Swing”. Then there is the legendary, disjointed Medicus that “buckles” when one isn’t on the correct swing path. There are training aids for putting, curing a slice, gaining more distance, balance, rhythm, stance and a whole host of other oddities.

I’ve been there, I’ve read all the books, I’ve tried all the fixes and I’ve watched so many golf videos and rounds of golf that my brain can’t comprehend anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, these items are useful and help in many ways, but they can also send one in too many directions.

That all changed for me the day I played a round with my dad and two of his friends ages, 72 and 74. I was 32 years old, in great physical shape and limber as can be. My golf game was OK, but still needed a lot of work. I knew that I could show off for these older guys and show them how a longer hitter plays the game. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

The best golf lesson I ever received came from that round of golf and these two older gentlemen.

The round started out the way I expected; the two older men drove the ball short and down the middle of the fairway with myself driving the ball a hundred yards past them. This was going to be a delight.

I pared the first whole and was up by two on the rest of my competitors. Cockiness settled in and on the second hole I bombed a drive into the pines. The older gentlemen poked the ball down the middle of the fairway, hit to the green and pared. I had to scramble out of the woods and took a double bogey .

This went on the whole round. I ended up off the fairway while my competitors enjoyed the luxury of the short grass with no obstacles in their way.

After nine I was ten strokes behind my nearest competitor. It was there that I realized how to play this game. The older gentleman had odd, short swings, but they took their time, stayed out of trouble and delivered a consistent blow to the ball hole after hole.

To play nice to choose good golf irons. This game is not about how far you hit the ball or how smooth you look when swinging; it’s about playing smart, swinging within your means and enjoying the time on the course.

Golf is one sport that requires a lot of mental ability and muscular endurance. At first look, some people will say that golf is one sport that doesn’t need muscle training or strengthening workouts. Additionally, people also think that it is a sport that’s solely centered on precision and accuracy. To some extent, that declaration is correct. Nonetheless, you also have to put in mind that golf can be long and tiring, hence the requirement for conditioning and strengthening. Having said that, before embarking on a golf game, make sure that you spend a lot of time on a driving range. You can also spend some time in the gym to strengthen specific muscle groups to be able to capitalize on your strokes. What you are aiming for is muscle memory. This is when your muscles know what they are intended to do simply by instinct. This though, entails a lot of practice and persistence. You can either enroll in golfing lessons or if you are trying to save money and you want to do everything on your own, you can just purchase a golf instruction book.

No matter what you prefer, what’s important is that you get to prepare yourself prior to the actual game. This way, you know what to do and what to expect. Here are a few important golfing tips that you can utilize in order to save a couple of strokes in your game.

Driving

In essence, there isn’t one stroke that is above any other in golf. Driving, putting, ironing, and pitching are all just as important. When you are driving, you must set the pin about two to three inches above the ground. As you start to swing, try to keep your body still but relaxed and don’t get your eyes off the ball. Just proceed with a swing that is not forceful and natural. A graceful swing will always beat a swing that is assertive and forceful.

Putting

When putting, you must read the greens thoroughly. You have to learn the speed of the greens, you need to know the incline, and above all, you need to know learn how to putt correctly.

Ironing

When using an iron, make sure that you keep your body in the middle of the ball. Find a firm and comfortable position before hitting the ball. Be relaxed and do a couple of practice swings before you do the actual swings.

Pitching

Pitching is best done when you grip the club at mid position. Additionally, you just need to relax, take deep breaths, and swing gracefully to your designated target.Uncover the expert advice, and get the best ground-breaking golfing tips that you need to master in the game of golf.

What Is The Best Golf Ball For My Game?

What Is The Best Golf Ball For My Game?

Article by Werner Michael Heus

Golfers are always looking to improve their game, aren’t they?

Well one way they can see improvement without taking a lesson is by picking the right ball. Don’t make the mistake of thinking one size ball fits all; there are different balls for different types of play.

Golf ball technology has come a long way. Balls are now better made, fly straighter, and go farther than in years past. They’ve also been able to make the dimples uniform so the ball is symmetrical. The dimples help decrease the drag on the ball so it flies farther.

If you’re on the driving range, you will use the driving range’s bucket of balls. These balls are different in that they’re one piece construction. This makes them very durable and inexpensive – perfect for the driving range but not good for course play.

If you’re a beginning golfer, you might choose a ball that’s of two piece construction. These balls will give you good distance, which you can surely use more of when you’re a beginner, but they don’t give you a lot of control.

If you’re more beginner than pro and you’ve got a wicked hook or slice, you should use a low spin ball. Because of the low spin, they’re more likely to go straight, although maybe not as far.

For most mid-level golfers the mid spin ball is just right. These golfters don’t have a lot of issues with their swing and they need a ball that goes the distance and yet gives them some control. This is what the mid spin ball offers.

If you’re a low handicapper, you probably want a ball that sails through the air the farthest. With the high spin ball you get that, but you don’t get a lot of roll when the ball has landed. Presumably that won’t matter so much because your ball will be landing closer to the pin. Since this golf ball doesn’t roll as well, it’s also good for the greens as you’re able to control it better.

Now take a look at the golf ball compression rating, which is basically how hard or soft the ball feels. If you have a fast swing, then choose a higher compression rating. If your swing is slow, go with a lower rating.

Unfortunately, you will not pick out one type of ball and use it every single time. There are factors to consider on a day to day basis such as the playing surface, the weather, and intricacies of each hole. Arm yourself with knowledge and do some experimentation to figure out which balls work best for you in different situations.

Tips Of Finding Your Best Golf Putter (I)

Tips Of Finding Your Best Golf Putter (I)

In recent days, there are so many golf putters a golfer can choose from. So here comes a problem: how should one know which putter to choose? And yet a quality golf putter such as Titleist Scotty Cameron Detour New Port 2 Putter is a very important part of a golfer’s arsenal. In fact, in many ways the golf putter could possibly be the most important club in your bag. Most golfers will take two thirds of their total shots within 100 feet of the hole. And your putts take up a large part of those shots.

So what exactly should you be looking for in a golf putter? The first thing you’ll notice is the number of different putter shapes that are available. The blade putter is the traditional style used for many many years on golf courses around the world. The blade putter is narrow from face to back and long from the heel to toe. Many people feel more comfortable using one of these standard, classically shaped putters. The more modern shape is the mallet putter. But even then these new putters can come in a variety of shapes although they are all typically just as deep from front to back as they are from heel to toe. You can find square shapes, triangular shapes and just about everything in between. Through the use of these different shapes, along with a variety of materials, a higher moment of inertia can be achieved when manufacturing the head. The moment of inertia is simply the ability of the putter head to resist twisting when you hit your golf balls. This twisting can send the ball off target.

Your Best Choice Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 Putter

Your Best Choice Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 Putter

Article by Bestwholesalegolf

The Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 Putter is the result of Scotty Cameron’s Putter research and their drive to create a putter collection with the finest technical performance and incredible overall feel. The precision milled 303 Stainless Steel Newport putters feature an improved high toe profile and heel and toe circular sole weights that allow for numerous length options in each model.Design For those of you who didn’t like the German Stainless Steel (GSS) insert on the Studio Style line, it is now a thing of the past. The Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 Putter milled from a block of 303 stainless steel and provide a slightly different feel and sound compared to the GSS insert of the Studio Style. I actually grew to like the insert of the Studio Style so this was a little bit of change for me. More on that later.Performance & FeelI’m not sure what the difference between German vs. American stainless steel (or any other country’s stainless steel for that matter) but I had grown accustomed to the soft feel of the insert and almost hated to see it go. After two years of getting used to that particularly soft feel and the more muted sound, I noticed an immediate change when I switched to the all-milled Studio Select. I adjusted, but it took a few rounds. Overall, the putter is easy to handle and is one of the best golf clubs I have ever met.

Scotty Cameron has pretty much held the same weight/length characteristics with his various Newport lines over the years with few exceptions. For the most part, the 33″ length was matched with a 350-gram head, the 34″ with a 340-gram head, and the 35″ getting a 330-gram head. Other than swapping shafts with a heavier head (or vise versa), you were pretty much stuck with whatever weight head came with the correct shaft length for your physical makeup and putting stroke. For those of us who prefer a little more heft in our putter head and don’t want to use lead tape, the new Studio Select line fits us perfectly. The Studio Selects feature removable weights that let you fine-tune the weight that works best for you.I’ve spent the last two years using a Studio Style Newport 2 and really like the softer feel of the insert, so even though the Studio Select Newport 2 looks similar, I was a little hesitant to give up the feel to which I’d become accustomed. Read on to find out if I ditched the insert and went all milled.

The best gear for ice fishing.

The best gear for ice fishing.

Article by Justin G

The right gear can mean success or failure while ice fishing. To have a successful ice fishing trip you are going to need to pack the right gear as well as bring along the right friends. There are several ways to have fun out there in the cold and on the ice but the best way is to bring along good friends that are going to help you laugh your frozen butt off and toss back a few beers while you are doing it. Ice fishing gear is varied and there is quite a bit of it, if you want to bring more than just the basic essentials.

The basic equipment that you will need to survive and catch some fish are, very warm and very comfortable clothes for obvious lack of frost bite reasons. Gloves and hand warmers because after you pull a fish through the ice your hands are going to be freezing cold. Thick warm boots and possibly snow shoes depending on the conditions and how you will be getting to the location. Make sure that you pack extra socks, you might need them and if you do you will really appreciate that they are warm and dry. That covers keeping warm and cosy in the sub zero temperatures but if you want to actually catch some fish you are going to need some more gear.

First you will need a fishing rod or two, with sensitive tips but still have some strength just in case you haul in that huge one. There are ice fishing specific rods that you can buy which are shorter that regular rods but if you are on a budget you can use a regular rod. Be sure to bring some good line, four to eight pound test is usually a good fit. You are definitely going to need some kind of bait such as crappie minnows or worms. Bring jigs spoons and hooks to help you catch more fish if you need them. You can bring along bobbers if you don’t have a proper ice fishing rig which lets you know when the fish strike. Be sure to also bring some minor tools to remove the hooks, cut the lines or whatever you might need them for. I suggest a folding multi-tool. An ice scoop is required to remove any ice that forms in the hole that you cut with the auger or ice saw. Also you are definitely going to need something to sit on. A large bucket works great because you can haul you gear out in it and use it to haul you catch back home when you are done.

There is a huge amount of gear that you can bring to make your trip a lot more easier and almost luxurious. Some of this equipment is quite nice but the rest is just extravagant. This includes fish finders, cameras, cell phones, underwater cameras, strike sensors, and GPS equipment. Nicer pieces of equipment include, a fishing hut, a space heater, cleats for easy ice walking, flashlights and lanterns, lighters and matches, and something to check the thickness of the ice. Tip ups are nice to bring along but are not quite necessary.

If you are going out for a all day expedition you are going to need extras such as food and drinks. I suggest beer as a proper beverage. There are other things that you are going to want to bring such as sun glasses to protect your eyes from the glare of the ice and snow. Those are the best bits of equipment that I can suggest, but there are many variables that you are going to have to cope with yourself. These are things such as ice thickness, storage for gear and transportation because if you are driving a truck right onto the ice you can bring pretty much any thing that you want but if you are walking ten miles then you are going to have to think about what you want to carry for that distance. Most importantly though you are going to have to have fun out there. Why bother if you are not enjoying yourself?
