Wilson Sporting Goods is one of the most popular manufacturers of sports equipment, apparel, and accessories. This article will focus on the Wilson golf clubs and where you can find them. Also, reasons to go with the Wilson brand will be discussed, plus a little background on the Wilson brand. After reading this article, you should be able to have your own reasons for buying or not buying Wilson clubs; and if you’re buying, you’ll know where to find cheap ones.Wilson Sporting Goods was founded almost a century ago. This is a good indication that they make quality products. The more experienced a manufacturer is, the better the product is. Wilson Sporting Goods has divisions for each sport it manufactures equipment for. The golfing division of Wilson is Wilson Staff, which handles anything and everything about golfing. They go under the name Wilson Profile for golf accessories and Wilson Hope for their golf apparel. You have to admit, Wilson has the credentials. However, it may not be enough for you to be convinced that they’re really good. While Wilson is very popular – so popular that the movie “Castaway” even featured a Wilson volleyball in it – there are only specific types of clubs that you might want to include in your golf set. For one, Wilson has good putters. Other brands of golf clubs may perform well in putters, and Wilson is in par if not better than them. It’s important that you take Read More→

Golf tip: Shorten your follow-through on putts
When trying to hole short putts always putt with a positive stroke that accelerates through impact.
Sometimes, however, it doesn’t always go to plan with the short ones and, as I’ve seen many times in pro-ams and with my pupils, when a golfer tries too hard, he or she becomes tense and the putting stroke becomes undefined and wishy-washy.
Rather than accelerating positively towards the hole, the hands freeze, the putter decelerates through impact and the ball limply rolls off line. To hole more putts learn to make a more positive stroke.
I often read in instructional articles how golf pros advocate a stroke where the putter travels back and through the same distance – ideal in a perfect world. But this advice contains very little acceleration and the stroke can easily slip into a limp and weak effort where the putter head overtakes the hands. If you look at some of the great putters, who consistently hole out under pressure, there is a slight rapping tempo to the stroke, almost like a punch shot in golf.
This ensures that the hands are in control as the putter head accelerates into the ball. Study Tiger Woods (or Jack Nicklaus in his heyday) and one of the great pressure putters Ben Crenshaw. They all accelerate into the ball and have defined finish positions to their putting strokes.
If you are struggling on the greens and leave putts short, shorten the follow through to only two inches past the ball and putt with a ‘rapping tempo’ that encourages acceleration. Being able to curtail the follow through also means the hands are in control after impact and this helps keep the putter face squarer, longer.

Titleist Studio Select Newport 1.5 Putter with the finest technical performance
Posted by: | CommentsTitleist Studio Select Newport 1.5 Putter with the finest technical performance
Article by Cheapgolf
Well, I told you guys that today I was going through a fitting with golf. First of all, I wanted to say that all the guys I worked with were just awesome dudes.
I tried some different shafts. And I’ve been blessed my entire life in so many ways. And while I’ve had my challenges, my ups, my downs, and my just regular days – I get up each day grateful for the challenges ahead, and the chance to challenge myself to perform better, to compete, and to do what I love each day.
The factory adjustable weights are set to provide the proper headweight-to-shaft length combination. The improved high toe profile of the Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 1.5 Putter (=http://www.buygolfsets.com/goods-950-Titleist+Scotty+Cameron+Studio+Select+Newport+15+Putter.html) features a stepless shaft for a clean look and offer a soft but solid feel and are equipped a new Scotty Cameron red cord grip. The Studio Select line is the result of Scotty Cameron’s Putter research and their drive to create a putter collection with the finest technical performance and incredible overall feel.
I have always loved the way the the Newports have set up and felt but the only thing that has turned me off from them is that they are really light putter and I have always liked a heavier putter, but after reading this I might take a look at these.
For those of you who didn’t like the German Stainless Steel (GSS) insert on the Studio Style line, it is now a thing of the past. The Studio Select putters are milled from a block of 303 stainless steel and provide a slightly different feel and sound compared to the GSS insert of the Studio Style. I actually grew to like the insert of the Studio Style so this was a little bit of change for me. More on that later.
I really like the direction Scotty Cameron Studio Select is going with all the customization options you can make to the Studio Select line. Being able to chose a weight/length combination that is the best for your individual putting stroke makes this a must-try when you are out shopping for putters. I found this to be a very solid performer and if you like a blade-style putter, you owe it to yourself to give one a shot.

Scotty Cameron has pretty much held the same weight/length characteristics with his various Newport lines over the years with few exceptions. For those of us who prefer a little more heft in our putter head and don’t want to use lead tape, the new Studio Select line fits us perfectly. The Studio Selects feature removable weights that let you fine-tune the weight that works best for you.
The new Studio Select putters are precision milled with circular weights in the heel and toe that allow each model to be offered at 33″, 34″ and 35″ lengths. With four Newport based models the new line features two different body styles – the Newport 1.5 and Newport 2 – and three different neck configurations – plumbing, short flair and mid slant.
Among them, the Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 1.5 putter is precision milled with circular weights in the heel and toe. It features a high toe set-up that reduces the tendency for players to raise the toe and aim left of target, and a stepless steel shaft for a clean, unbroken playing position appearance. Tour-inspired cosmetics include three large red dots on the back of the putter, three smaller red dots on the heel of the face, and distinct Studio Select graphics, shaftband and headcover. The model name is engraved into the sole, and the soft 303 stainless material delivers a crisp, solid feel at impact and enhances durability for a timeless style. In addition, the Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 1.5 can be lie adjusted +/- 2 degrees off of the standard 71 degrees and come with six different grip options.
In addition, the Studio Select line is the result of Scotty Cameron’s Putter research and their drive to create a putter collection with the finest technical performance and incredible overall feel(). The precision milled 303 Stainless Steel Newport putters feature an improved high toe profile and heel and toe circular sole weights that allow for numerous length options in each odel.
The circular heel-toe weights provide amplified stability by reducing head rotation on off-centre impacts for a larger sweet spot. The factory adjustable weights are set to provide the proper headweight-to-shaft length combination. The improved high toe profile of the Studio Select Putters feature a stepless shaft for a clean look and offer a soft but solid feel and are equipped a new Scotty Cameron red cord grip .
I really like the direction that Studio Select Newport 1.5 putter is going with all the customization options you can make to the Studio Select line. Being able to chose a weight/length combination that is the best for your individual putting stroke makes this a must-try when you are out shopping for putters. I found this to be a very solid performer and if you like a blade-style putter, you owe it to yourself to give one a shot.
In the end, I made the switch from my Studio Style primarily due to the extra weight and the cord grip. Those little differences have provided me with a bit more confidence on the green as I finally feel that I have a putter that was made to my specifications.

Why I’m Interested in California Coronado Putter?

Article by Cheapgolf
The California Coronado putter is milled from soft 303 stainless steel and fitted with circular weights in the heel and toe that allow it to be offered at 33″, 34″ and 35″ lengths. The bronze ‘honey dipped’ finish is created during a heat-treating process. The draft sole design keeps the clubhead square in the playing position for proper alignment.
PROS: A top-tier performer, one of the highest-rated blades; excellent distance control; superb feedback (instant response) lets you know how you hit it; more forgiving than it looks, the heel and toe weights help out; very well balanced head; best for lower handicappers; rewards good strokes with spot-on distance; testers praise its elegant, understated look.
CONS: Smallish head and old-fashioned look don’t breed confidence in mid- and higher-handicappers; too exacting for some higher handicappers who prefer more help during the stroke.
Putter guru Scotty Cameron is set to release a new line of Titleist putters, the California Series, at the end of September. On Tuesday at the PGA Championship, many pros got their first look at the new flatsticks. Rod Pampling and Darren Clarke immediately requested that models be made to their specifications and planned to try one on the practice green here at Hazeltine National Golf Club.<pScotty California Coronado putter(=http://www.golfclubsequipments.com/goods-1133-Titleist+Scotty+Cameron+California+Coronado+Putter+.html) were born from timeless, tour-proven designs and the modern weighting technology that has made Scotty Cameron Studio Select putters so successful. The Select technology Cameron introduced with the original Studio Select putter line that allows the balancing of putter head weight with shaft length, has been incorporated into the new California line of putters as well, providing a wider range of choices for length and weight to enhance performance for a wide range of putting strokes.
“I am extremely excited about the early acceptance and feedback that I have received about the California family of putters,” said Master Putter Craftsman Scotty Cameron. “This new line brings modern playability and customization to some of my favorite designs from my early Classics and Handmade models. Players who prefer the more flowing, less geometric lines of the Coronado or the Del Mar are now going to find that they don’t have to sacrifice performance. With the wide range of weight and length options that we now have available, players can get a perfect fit for their stroke as well as their eye.”
Each Cameron California putter features a draft sole design that keeps the putter square in the playing position for proper alignment and a high toe set-up that reduces the tendency for players to raise the toe and aim left of target.
The California line is distinguished by a unique “Honey Dipped” finish. The natural bronze finish is actually not “dipped” or plated, rather it comes from a heat-treated process that is part of the head manufacturing process. The result is a rich bronzed appearance that looks great in natural light while reducing glare.

Useful Golf Putter Choosing Tips
Posted by: | CommentsUseful Golf Putter Choosing Tips
Do you know that 50% of your game comes from the putting green? So, as a golfer, no matter weekend or pro, you must get a right golf putter to improve your game. In spite of spending inordinate time to practice with their driver for long-distance shots, those golf beginners can still not improve game quickly. In fact, making effort to practicing putting is the most important respect.
Of course, even many experienced pros often meet trouble with putting, sometimes they lose tournaments due to the putting woes. So if you are a beginner or high handicapper, be sure to pay attention to your putting skills, and get a right putter for yourself.
It’s not a simple work to get the right putter cause there are too many types and styles of putters available in the markets, such as Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 Putter, Odyssey White Hot XG 2 Ball F-7 Putter and Ping iWi Series CRAZ-E putter…At times it can even get a little overwhelming when you see all the different kinds of putters that are in use. So, how to choose from among them all? How the hell do you know which one is the best for you?
And the truth is that there is no standard answer that can be provided. Finding the perfect putter for your individual game is something that only you can do by trial and error. (I’m sorry) It may require using several different kinds of putters over a long period of time before you can decide on which one works best for you.
With all of that said, there are some basic things that you need to know about putters to be able to make the best choice. The first has to do with the kind of material that is used for the putter head. Since putting has more to do with feel than perhaps any other type of golf shot, the material that is used for the putter head will be very important. The confusing part is that putters are often made from all sorts of materials including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and much more. So which is best for you?
Again, this is something that only you can decide by experimenting with different types of putters yourself. Many golf pro shops and golf equipment retail stores carry a wide variety of putters that you can try out in the store. It’s not a bad idea to take advantage of this opportunity to get familiar with the different types and styles of putters that are available.
Another consideration when selecting a putter is the putter head shape. Generally speaking, most putter head shapes fall into two basic categories, either blade or mallet. You’ll see golfers of all different kinds of skill levels using putters with either head shape. A blade putter sort of looks like a small hockey stick, and they can come in all kinds of designs including the solid flat blade and also cavity-back designs to help keep the putter head straight through impact.
The second putter head shape to consider is the mallet putter. These are easy to recognize because they usually have a head that is larger and more round. The weight is often distributed throughout the putter to help provide a more consistent putting stroke.
As you can see, there are plenty of choices to be made when selecting a golf putter. Hopefully this information will help you understand more about the choices that you have when choosing a putter, but only you can make the final decision by using it yourself.
