Karrie Webb Wins In Golf Course Peacefully

Article by Ellachan

While Karrie Webb was winding up on the drastically wrong side regarding par the past few years, she had trouble to put undesirable shots, undesirable rounds as well as bad days and nights behind the woman’s. “I didn’t discover how to quiet my brain down. It sort of sounded being a train had been running via my ears,” Webb stated.

Now the Area of Famer together with 38 LPGA Tour wins locates relief in the trees. “I try to listen for the birds in every different 4 corners,” Webb explained Tuesday after a practice circular on the Dinah Coast Tournament Course in preparation with burner 2.0 irons just for this week’s Kraft Nabisco Championship, the particular LPGA tour’s first major from the season. “Because in the event that I’m concentrating on the birds, I can’t always be thinking about whatever else. I want to get off the past and stay in the second. Once it gets loud up there, every thing starts to tense up and that does not help the actual physical part of the game.”

Little helped Webb soon after she gained five times in 2006, which includes her next Nabisco and in 7th place major identify. Heading in to this season, your woman had received just once in their last Seventy seven tour events. For someone which had won 25 times from 1996 through Beginning of 2001, including Thirteen in 2000 and Two thousand when the lady was heading toe-to-toe with Annika Sorenstam week to few days to decide who had been the world’s finest player, it absolutely was a tough stretch out to take and also self-loathing kicked within. Especially soon after earning induction into the World Playing golf Hall involving Fame in 2005.

“I believe the slim years were not as frustrating as they might have been if I we had not already acquired the success of our early decades,” mentioned Webb, 36, who works with athletics psychologist Noel Blundell. “Years ago I didn’t bother about my following win by discount golf equipment. I must say I didn’t have an opportunity to worry about that because I’d win again. I always thought the is victorious would be right now there. “I was never under the belief I would go my total career with out a few struggles, and if you’d probably have asked me 10 years previously if I required winning as a given, I would have got said absolutely no. But seeking back onto it, I did. I became young and that I really did not understand what I became doing.

“Now I strive and enjoy the good golf more and not really beat personally up as significantly during the slim times. Seems to be functioning. Webb has gained twice in 2010 in Singapore and Phoenix and is also thinking about those glory times in Late 90s, 2000 along with 2006 yet again. With a far better mental strategy and now packed with confidence the first kind No. One said any five-win, six-win season is within reach. “I could leave the workplace now and turn into very happy, greater than happy, with what I have carried out my job,” Webb mentioned. “I think throughout the lean years, one of the troubles was I was very aim specific. Now I don’t have goals really worth stressing more than. Anything that comes about now on in is topping on the wedding cake. “I know how good I can always be and I only want to be able to make that happen and be a rather different person that I was after I was taking part in at my very best. “I know I’m capable of that kind of the game of golf.”

Webb Wins LPGA Founders Cup and Webb is in the perfect destination for a win for your third occasion this season. She won throughout 2000 along with 2006, whenever she holed out there a 116-yard pitching wedge on the ultimate hole to push a playoff, which she at some point won against Lorena Ochoa. “I have excellent feelings while I come here, and I always have great feelings when I go walking down your 18th fairway,” Webb said. “Coming here with a little bit of confidence, and knowing this program gives me self-assurance, hopefully that will be a good mixture.”

Woods Wins But Not Tiger

Woods Wins But Not Tiger

Article by Marina

Some people may think that I’m talking about Tiger Woods. But it was not. I was talking about his awesome niece, Cheyenne Woods, who just won the ACC women’s individual golf title on Sunday.

More than 200 people were there to witness her final putt. She finished a career-best five under par with the victory. Then Uncle Tiger tweeted, “My niece, Cheyenne, just won the ACC golf title by 7 shots with Callaway X-22 Irons! That’s awesome, I’m so proud of her.” He added, “Now I am going to pick up some chicks, a six-pack of Miller Lite and it’s off to the blackjack table!” Okay, so he didn’t tweet that, but he very well could have.

It has been a while since any “Woods” has been a top the leader board, but I love that it is Cheyenne’s impressive feat making headlines, rather than her uncle’s shenanigans. To be clear, the last time Tiger won a tournament was at the Australian Masters in November 2009–only two weeks before The Incident.

Like her famous uncle, Cheyenne’s first coach was Tiger’s dad. Before attending Wake Forest, she played golf for Xavier College Preparatory and won back-to-back Arizona state championships in 2006 and 2007. In total, she has won more than 30 amateur tournaments, although the ACC title is arguably her greatest victory.

In 2009, she received an exemption to play in the LPGA Tour by Ping K15 but missed the cut by four strokes. I do not think we will be saying that often in the future. I also like the fact that she has replaced Michelle Wie as golf’s next “It” Girl.

Crazily, Cheyenne Woods is the third straight Wake Forest golfer to win the individual title. On the other hand, UNC won this year’s team championship.

While we are talking about The Dark Side, it should be noted that Prince Harry, Harrison Barnes, has decided to return to Carolina, along with the Muppet twins, Tyler Zeller and John Henson. I wish I could mock this or make fun of him, Winning Is More Important Than Swing but I give him props for making a great decision and putting school and winning ahead of money. God, I hate when UNC does something admirable.I wish I could mock this or make fun of him, Winning Is More Important Than Swing but I give him props for making a great decision and putting school and winning ahead of money. Putter Will Be The Key Factor If Woods Wins Again

Putter Will Be The Key Factor If Woods Wins Again

Article by Aaliyah Green

It was glad to see a Woods holding the trophy again Sunday. Cheyenne Woods, a junior at Wake Forest, won the Atlantic Coast Conference women’s golf championship by seven shots, firing a bogey-free 68 in the final round.

Just like Uncle Tiger used to do it. “My niece, Cheyenne, just won the ACC golf title by 7 shots with TaylorMade R9! That’s awesome, I’m so proud of her,” Tiger said.

Meanwhile, it has been 586 days since Cheyenne’s famous uncle held a trophy. Woods is going to win again, of that much we’re certain. He showed flashes of Tiger 1.0 at the Masters, particularly the hooking 3-wood that chased up onto the eighth green in the final round, setting up an eagle putt that shook the pines, led to a front-nine 31 and put him in the mix.

Now, his decline is going to be different than, say, Billy Mayfair’s. It’s just that what once seemed a given. Woods surpassing Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championships is looking less and less like a sure thing.

The competition is better than it was 10 years ago, when Woods basically had to beat Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh. Now, there are Rory McIlroys, Charl Schwartzels and Matteo Manasseros coming out of the woodwork, and none of them are intimidated by Woods.

Woods’ thrice-overhauled swing is a favourite topic of the television analysts, but it’s obvious he’s making progress under Sean Foley and he struck the ball well enough to win the Masters. It’s the putter that is holding him back. For a dozen years, Woods was maybe the best clutch putter the game had ever seen. At times, such as on the 72nd hole of the 2008 U.S. Open by Ping G15, he seemingly willed the ball into the cup. No one can putt like that forever. Of the game’s best players, only Nicklaus remained a great putter past his physical prime. Is Tiger’s time up? He has switched from the Scotty Cameron with which he won 71 tournaments to a Nike Method. That bespeaks a lack of confidence.

What happened at Augusta National 10 days ago, even given Woods’ long winless drought, was eye-opening if not shocking. In the old days, if he’d shot 31 on the front nine Sunday and was tied for the lead with the back nine to play, it was over.

But Woods managed only a pedestrian 36 coming in. He is three-putted on No. 12, inexplicably missing a two-footer for par. The CBS announcers tried to make excuses for him, pointing out that he had to wait a long time while playing partner Martin Laird three-putted. Woods hit a great shot on the par-5 15th to set up a six-footer for eagle and Woods Wins But Not Tiger, the kind of pressure putt he once rammed into the back of the cup. This time, he tried to coax it in with a tentative stroke and missed. On the par-3 16th he played too much break on a 10-foot birdie putt and missed again.

Of all the obstacles he will have to overcome to catch Nicklaus – an aging body, a crop of talented young kids, a closing window of opportunity – it is the putter that ultimately will determine whether he is successful.
