The Acush¬net Com¬pany (Titleist, FootJoy) began seed¬ing the 712 irons at the AT&T National. A total of 19 play¬ers put the pro¬to¬type irons (AP1, AP2, MB, CB) in play. The Titleist brand led the iron count at the AT&T National with a total of 40 sets in play.

Watney’s pro¬to¬type AP2 irons(3-P) were stan¬dard length and one degree upright through¬out; two degrees weak in the 3, 4, 5, P and one degree weak in the 6, 7, 8, 9. Accord¬ing to Acush¬net, Wat¬ney decided to put the new irons in the bag after prac¬tic¬ing with them for the first time dur¬ing the Wednes¬day pro-am round.

The insulated pocket only holds about 4 bottles, but I guess one shouldn’t take much more than that to the course (or at least have more than that in one’s bag) at one time.
