The TaylorMade Raylor Hybrid Golf Club – A Review.

The TaylorMade Raylor Hybrid Golf Club – A Review.

Article by Michael LaVaglio

The TaylorMade Raylor has been with us since 1988 and is reputed to be the favorite utility wood amongst players from time immemorial. This club was particularly adept at rescuing those, “gone into the rough”, tee shots and returning them to, or close to, the course. The club’s steel head is rounded and has a very low center of gravity, the sole of the club has a pair of distinctive tracks, the function of these is to assist the club in gliding effortlessly through long grass and at the same time dragging and twisting is resisted. 2009 saw the launch of the hybrid Taylor Made Raylor and it is proving to be a great improvement on the original design. This new Raylor hybrid club is available in two loft angles 19 and 22 degrees. The club has two main attributes that work together to provide its efficiency in making those shots from the rough.1. The leading edge is lightly sharpened and pointed slightly, this permits a sliding action through the grass to address the rear of the golf ball.2. The sole of this club, known as the “Raylor sole”, has a ship’s hull like form, this has the effect of parting the grass blades producing a clean glide swing with little or no resistance or snagging. With the combination of the Raylor sole and the leading edge design there is a 23% reduction in the area of the section of the clubs head that would cause other clubs to stall or twist. The radius of the Raynor sole can also assist you when making shots from sidehill lies. This radius measures 17 degrees as compared to a Burner Rescue hybrid club’s 10 degrees this actually provides an additional 70% extra (heel and toe side) sole relief making a more solid contact with the golf ball when it is under or above your feet. The Raylor hybrid has a RE*AX 65 gram shaft and is an inch more in length than is usual for other TaylorMade Rescue clubs of matching loft angles. This added length adds further assistance to velocity and purchase when attempting shots from the rough.

Most Advanced TaylorMade R9 SuperTri Driver

Most Advanced TaylorMade R9 SuperTri Driver

Article by Golf Wholesale Shop

Unconfirmed sources are pointing to more differences between the SuperTri and original R9 460. Not only is the head bigger but the face is rumored to be made of SP-700 titanium and the fitting sleeve is supposed to be lighter and more secure. Prototype images are also appearing of a version with only 2 weights one of which is named the Taylormade R9 Super Deep “DF”.TaylorMade has introduced its new R9 SuperTri and R9 SuperTri Tour drivers, which combine Flight Control Technology (FCT) and Movable Weight Technology with three movable weights in a 460cc head. The larger head is more forgiving, and its centre of gravity is two millimetres further back in the head than the r9 making it easier to launch the ball higher and with more spin. The inclusion of MWT with three weights promotes a side-to-side trajectory change of up to 75 yards. The TaylorMade R9 SuperTri driver features Inverted Cone Technology (ICT). Although it’s milled onto the back of the clubface where it’s out of sight, ICT plays a critical role by increasing the area of the clubface that delivers fast ball speed, promoting more distance on off-centre hits. The R9 SuperTri driver clubhead has a new shape and a black-on-black colour scheme, including a black PVD clubface. The R9 SuperTri is equipped with a Fujikura Motore 60-gram shaft, which is five grams lighter than the Motore 65 used in the R9 driver. In addition to being lighter, the Motore 60 makes it easier to launch the ball on a higher launch angle and at a higher spin-rate, which helps many players achieve longer carry for increased distance. The R9 SuperTri unites four viable performance technologies: FCT, MWT, UTW and ICT. Never before have four such impactful, performance enhancing technologies been combined so effectively in a single driver. Plus, there’s the superior aerodynamics of the new crown shape. The R9 SuperTri and R9 SuperTri TP are the most advanced, highest-performing drivers TaylorMade has ever developed. The distance producing power and shot straightening abilities created by their combined clubhead size, clubhead design, performance technologies and shaft specifications make them clubs that no golfer should be without.Sleek all-black looks made this a very good looking club. The black PVD face was first seen from TaylorMade with the highly regarded R7 SuperQuad. The head shape is not quite the classic pear shape with its fractionally extended rear but its a million miles from the lairy max-MOI efforts that are now so commonplace. Because the face is so deep it has a very reassuring look at address – not only do you get the sensation that the face is impossible to miss, you also get the subliminal message that you are playing a club with much greater loft so you don’t need to rip into the ball to try and lift it up.Sound off in the comments area and vote in the poll! Is it more of the same? I hear that the adjustment sleeve has been updated but that provides no substantial gain for the player’s shot, perhaps they made a new sleeve to save even further on weight. I unlike many people welcome almost all new releases by Taylormade because they push the envelope and keep their competitors on their toes. So what if its virtually the same as the R9 except with a deeper face, my only gripe about it is of everyone I know who has an R9 very few actually adjust the club after the first several rounds.Players’ review:This driver definitely surprised me. I had been told by many that I would hit the ball to high with this club because of my swing speed and natural trajectory, but was impressed with a penetrating ball flight. The ball was very hot off the face and very accurate. After two rounds, I love the solid feel and am getting used to the Motore shaft. Distance and control are both big plusses! Have not yet tweaked the adjustments, and will probably stick with the factory settings. As a Titelist devotee, I demo-ed their new driver, but found the Super Tri to be much friendlier and easier to control both ways (draw or fade). Can’t wait to try the three wood. With one round under its belt, the SuperTri is proving to be money well spent. Distance increase isn’t massive for me but accuracy and ball flight is very impressive so far. It looks great at address, doesn’t seem enormous, I’d say very forgiving as well. I have gone through 3 other drivers-Cleveland Monster XLS, Ping G10, & TM R9 460, over the past year, and the SUPER TRI is without a doubt the best driver out. The R9 460 is also a great club, but the Super TRI is far more superior & worth the upgrade. This driver is also very forgiving. This driver is exactly why Taylormade drivers are the #1 driver on the Tour.Over many years playing golf I have owned many many types of drivers. I am what you call a driver collector. At present I have the R7, Ping i15, Ping G15, Callaway FTiz and the Tri. All are very good clubs but the Tri is the best of all in distance and shot dispersion. There is one simple reason why this club is so much better than the rest of my drivers and that is the Fuji Motore shaft. I would recommend to all golfers seeking the goal of improving their game- go buy a good quality shaft and reap the benefits.More information at http://www.shoppinginjoy.com/TaylorMade+R9+Super+Tri+Driver+-goods-871.html

In Review: TaylorMade Rossa Siena Putter

In Review: TaylorMade Rossa Siena Putter

For a golf company that’s most acclaimed for its drivers, TaylorMade is sure on a roll with its putters. While Sergio Garcia was making noise with his TaylorMade Rossa Corzina belly putter during last week’s British Open, Joe Ogilvie was concurrently wielding a Rossa LeMans putter for his first PGA Tour win at the U.S. Bank Championship.

TaylorMade’s Rossa putter line also underwent an extreme makeover earlier this year, with a striking new red-on-black color scheme and enhanced AGSI+ grooved insert technology. Is the result just another pretty face—or a putter to be reckoned with?

Following is PutterZone.com’s review of the Rossa Siena putter (9), which belongs to the Rossa Classics family of traditionally shaped putters.

The Storyline
TaylorMade’s first Rossa putters were introduced in 2001, and the new generation of Rossa putters was released early this year. As one would expect with a name like “Rossa,” the line’s signature color is red, which is most recognizable in the red face inserts. Garcia’s putter literally screamed “Rossa” every time a television camera got near his putter during the British Open. From a branding standpoint, that’s quite an accomplishment.

The Rossa Siena model and other new Rossa putters feature AGSI+ technology, which stands for Anti-skid Groove System Insert. The “+” stands for improvements made to the original AGSI technology found on earlier Rossa putters.

PutterZone.com asked TaylorMade to explain the improvements, and here’s what they said: “What makes AGSI+ superior to the original is the addition of two grooves, which raises the total to 14 from 12, and which brings the grooves 22 percent closer together. That brings more grooves into contact with the ball more often, allowing AGSI+ to more efficiently negate backspin and promote forward spin at impact, generating smoother roll and helping the player make more putts.”

The insert’s grooves are also filled with a soft polymer material “that depresses at impact inside of the groove so that it exposes the edge of the groove, thus promoting forward spin.”

The Rossa Siena’s head is made from 304 stainless steel and the insert is made of Titallium, a lightweight composite alloy. The putter is heel-toe weighted for higher moment of inertia (MOI) and enhanced forgiveness.

The View from PutterZone.com
Like the previous generation of Rossa putters, the new generation is rather colorful—but now the effect is more sophisticated and integrated, resulting in a very stylish ensemble. The red insert is artfully harnessed in midnight black instead of hollering at us from a stainless steel finish, which was a jarring combination. A dash of yellow-gold flows through the face insert, cavity logo and grip, adding a sporty touch. This putter will get noticed—and for all the right reasons.

In functional terms, the Siena looks like a PING Anser that got a manicure in Milan. The edges are soft and elegant, flowing gracefully into a gooseneck hosel. The upper sole features two white sightlines that hug the core of the ball at address. These sightlines are quite assertive against the black of the putter head, providing strong visual synergy with the ball at address.

Another nice touch is the fact that the putter’s finish is glossy black on the face and sole for added aesthetic sizzle, but matte black on the crown and upper sole to minimize potential solar glare. Upon close inspection, the putter appears to be tightly constructed and precisely assembled.

In terms of truer roll, I can’t really testify to the efficacy of the AGSI+ groove technology, at least not without a robot and some slow-motion cameras. I can say that it doesn’t hurt, and that it likely helps, though in ways more subtle than startling. The feel and sound are surprisingly soft for a metallic insert (perhaps owing to the polymer groove filling), making the Siena a good choice for those who want added suppleness without the sponginess often associated with synthetic inserts.

Overall, the Rossa Siena putter performed quite well for me. No single thing blew my mind, but that’s really not the point of a sleek, classically shaped blade putter like the Siena. This is a putter that you play, not a putter that plays you. If you do your job, this putter will put the ball in the hole.

The Bottom Line
The Rossa Siena offers both brains and beauty, with nice playability and a stylish personality. The color scheme might not appeal to everyone, but it will attract many, especially those who prefer a traditional putter shape but have a yen for edgier aesthetics. TaylorMade went the extra mile with its new Rossa putters, offering considerable attention to detail at a relatively affordable price. If you want to look sharp and play well without breaking the bank, the Rossa Siena can’t be ignored.

How to Buy Suitable Golf Clubs

How to Buy Suitable Golf Clubs

Article by Marina

There are lots of famous golf brands in the world, for example, the TaylorMade golf, Ping golf and Callaway golf. Now, all the golfers should know that you can buy cheap clubs online, or buy discount golf clubs online. But, some golfers think that the discount or cheap golf clubs are not right clubs.

Do you know how to buy suitable but discount golf set clubs online? In this article, I would like to talk some tips to buy suitable golf cubs. If you want to know much more golf information or golf tips, you may read funny article in my blog.

Before you get started you need to decide what clubs that you want to purchase. Once you have done this, then you can begin pricing them out. It is very important to note the type of clubs that you are shopping for, you will also want to take note of the make and model that you are interested in purchasing. Next, you can search the internet to price your clubs.

Find the right shaft length. Shaft length affects the appearance of the club, but most players will fit an off-the-shelf club. When you have questions or are exceptionally short or tall, look for a knowledgeable shop ready to match you to a shaft length. If needed, ask if they have clubs made specifically for children.

Know the various clubs and how they are sold. Because it’s important that they match, irons can be bought as sets, usually comprising the 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 irons along with a pitching wedge. Woods may be sold individually or perhaps in sets. Woods do not need to match. Some novices purchase only a 3 wood rather than a full set of woods.

Understand the differences in club design. Most new clubs are perimeter weighted, with a larger hitting area to lessen the chances of an errant shot. Experts prefer bladed clubs, which demand great precision but deliver more power in skilled hands.
