Hooking and slicing can get you into trouble—especially off the tee. Even players with low golf handicaps find it hard to go low if they’re constantly getting themselves into trouble. In addition to costing you strokes, slicing or hooking can ruin your position for your next shot. That makes it harder to greens hit in regulation (GIR). Fewer GIRs mean fewer birdies and pars, and higher scores. While we see more slicers than hookers in our golf lessons, one thing is certain: Eliminate a hook or a slice takes a little time and some work. Trying the golf tips given below will make the transition easier.

Taming Your SliceGolfers slice when the clubhead is open at impact. An open clubhead causes the clubface to cut across the ball at impact, putting sidespin on it. Sidespin causes the ball to curve in the direction the clubface is pointing.

To correct a slice:

Strengthen Your GripTo adopt a stronger grip, turn your left hand (right hand for left-handers) so you can see three knuckles at address. This promotes a closed clubface at impact.

Close Your StanceAn open stance causes the clubface to cut across the ball. Remedying this is simple. Turn your body a little to the right to set up an in-to-out swing path. By turning your body to the right, you close your stance

Rotate Your Right ArmsWith your body closed to the target line, your right arm will rotate over your left as you swing past your chest. This also promotes a closed clubface at the moment of impact.

Anti-slice Drill:Using a 7-iron, grip the club extra lightly. Set it down with the toe of the clubhead perpendicular to the ground. From there, swing the club halfway back and halfway through. As you swing through, let the toe of the clubhead hit the ground first. Feel the head take over as your forearms rotate through impact.

Taming Your HookA closed clubface at impact, on the other hand, triggers a hook. A closed clubface causes the clubhead to come too far inside. The key to curing a hook is to make contact with a slightly more open clubface.

Weaken Your GripTo tame a hook, you’ll want to “weaken” your grip. To do that, turn your left hand left (right if you’re a left hander) so you can see two knuckles at address.

Open Your StanceJust as you needed to close your stance to beat a slice, so to do you need to open your stance to produce a fade. So turn your body to the left slightly (left-handers turn right). That sets up a slightly out-to-in swing path.

Hold Off Arm RotationWith your body open to the target line, your chest turns open faster on the downswing. This enables you to hold off arm rotation for a bit. It also keeps the face open for a shot that starts left and curves right slightly.

Anti-Hooking DrillUse a 7-iron, set up with your back foot turned out about forty-five degrees and the ball positioned forward. Now make relatively easy swings, using your shoulders and upper body to do all the work. As you increase speed and improve ball flight, use longer clubs for the drill.

Hooking and slicing can get you into serious trouble—especially off the tee. That can ruin a hole and add strokes to your golf handicap. Taming your hook or slice using the golf tips described above will help you hit more fairways. That will put you into position to hit more GIRs. Do that and you’ll card more birdies and pars, and lower your golf handicap a couple of strokes.

Step 2: Address. When it comes to addressing the golf ball make sure you stand slightly further back from your golf ball, then when using your golf irons. The swing plane you create with a driver will be a significantly larger arc so if you stand too close your swing will feel too stiff and cause you to connect with the ball incorrectly. Open your feet stance out to be the same width as your shoulders and the heel of your front foot should be in line with the ball. This is slightly further forward than when using an iron.

 

Step 3: Posture. After completing your address you need to get yourself ready for that swing, your head should remain still with your eyes looking straight down at your TaylorMade Burner golf ball. Never look up from the ball to early, it can be tempting to watch your ball travelling through the air. If you do look up too early you will ruin your shot and likely just top the ball causing you to lose any distance.

Tip 4: Correct Driver. Your golf driver can be your best friend in your golf bag so ensure you feel comfortable when using it, its best to try out a number of different golf drivers before you purchase one. Never purchase a driver because of the brand name or because it’s the most expensive, always try a few drivers out and purchase the one that feels the most comfortable. Swinging to hard will cause you to lose control of your shot, so slow down and stay controlled you will have better results.

This is a recipe I use to to brew up a nutritious smoothie:

 

4(Four) c. of ice, 2 (two) c. of strawberries, 1 (one) c. of blueberries, 1 (one) c. of broccoli, 2 (two) c. of carrots, 3 (three) c. of beets, 1 (one) sliced apples, 2 (two) c. soy milk, 1 (one) c. of water, and 2 (two) c. of light orange juice.

 

Properly mix them together in a blender and if you have the dial option of “liquify” if you don’t have that selection then use the highest speed you have available.

 

 

This is a quick but very delicious recipe for a milk shake:

 

1 (one) Scoop of protein powder ( Protein powder is good for the muscles and your hunger pangs) ( 4 (four) c. of soy milk, 2 (two) c. of water, 1 (one) teasp. Of vitamin powder (this is optional) 1 ½ ( one and a half) c. of half and half, 1 (one) c. of coco solution of any kind or 1 (one) c. of chocolate, or 1 (one) c. of strawberry syrup (You can substitute with any flavored syrup)

or strawberry syrup( if you have any other flavored syrup be my guess and

substitute with those)

 

4 (four) c. of crushed ice. Mix those ingredients in a good quality blender thoroughly until the shake is properly thick. Served cold.

 

Lesson #2:

 

Substitute your snacks with more nutritious and healthy fruits/vegetables. You can exchange one snack schedule with your favorite snacks such as cookies or maybe a slice of cheesecake every 2nd day of every week. You are allowed to enjoy two snacks a day in between your balanced meals. The time frame you would eat your snacks are for example 10 am and 3 pm.

 

This is a schedule of your daily intake:

 

7 a.m. Breakfast block

 

10 a.m. Snack Block #1

 

12 a.m. Lunch Block

 

3 p.m. Snack Block #2

 

6 p.m. Dinner Block

 

 

You are going to have meals such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner but the meal size will be balanced and a bit smaller then your average consumption. Well it really depends on how much food you consume a day. Take one day out of your schedule and east as normal as you would eat without consciously thinking of being on a diet. And write down the calories of every food you consume that day.

 

Take the time at the end of the say and add up all the calories you consumed. Then you would subtract 500 calories from the sum, afterwords divide the outcome by six. This step is a bit tricky but you should be able to understand make sure you subtract anywhere from fifty to one hundred calories from your snack blocks and then distribute them equally to the lunch block and your dinner block.

 

So your bigger meals will have the appropriate calorie consumption that way you don’t feel hungry as often. You are allowed to exchange one of your snack blocks with a tasty yet guilty treat like maybe a slice of cheese cake or a lemon square bar.

 

Lesson #3:

 

Its important to do some form of exercise to burn those stubborn calories. If you didn’t know already then let me be the first to let you know that exercise furnaces your metabolism. And guess what? Your metabolism down sizes the fat stored in your body.

 

There are many options of exercise for you. You can jog in the comfort of your own home or spend 30 minutes jogging out around the neighborhood. If you have access to Com cast Xfinity program then you can use the exercise videos that comes with it. If not that’s no biggie because there are free online videos that you can search for via Google to get some free vids of cardio blasting work outs.

 

If you follow this program outlined for you thoroughly then you will see results and lose weight. You can finally look in the mirror with confidence and not fear of your weight overcoming you. Don’t worry about wanting to burn calories because if you followed through then results will come in, in no time. No depriving yourself of those heart warming sweet treats or salty snacks.

 

 

How much more simple yet truthful can this be? Here is the true secret to this diet. Not only do you eat less but you can eat those junk foods in a much more healthier way. There are five steps to make a pertect putter.

The first step is that make sure you get the right and quality golf equipment, if you are a beginner, the suggestion for you is to get a good set of cheap golf clubs, which including drivers, irons, woods, putters, and so on. In this article we talk about putters.

 

You should calculate your best putter length you must base it on your height or your body shape. You do a wrist-to-floor measurement. Measure form the inside of your wrist at the top of your hand all the way down to the floor. Then you can select the putters that fit you best.

 

The second step is your hand position. When you hit the ball, you should know the best position for your hand. There are a lot of factors that will affect the proper loft, which include offset putters, ball position, and hand position. This will create negative loft at the point of impact; therefore you will need additional loft to counteract this preference. If you have a conventional hand position then you will benefit from a standard lofted putter.

 

The third is your posture, when you’re putting, you should notice what is your most posture. You should choose the putter according to your posture and your golf level or your habit. If stand more upright, you will be better suited to longer putters( TaylorMade Rossa Itsy Bitsy Monza Spider Putter) that have more upright angles. If you fall into this category you will need a shorter putter that has flatter angles with it.

 

The fourth step is your putting stroke. You must consider this because depending on your wrist action, it will dictate what type of grips you need. Players with more of a pendulum action will choose wider or fatter grips to inhibit any unwanted wrist action. A golfer who has more wrist action in their stroke will prefer the smaller, thinner, more traditional sized grips.
The last one I want to share is that your stroke path. If you have an inside square inside path, then you have a tendency to pull your putts and will benefit from it. If you are more of that, you will have more of a tendency to push. You would then benefit more from a face balanced putter with the weight dispersed evenly in the putter head.

 

So you should go to get yourself a right fitted putter. Some putters are fits all golfers, such as the Ping iWi Series CRAZ-E putter. You know that good putting is essential to your game. If you get the proper putters for you, you will have more advantage in your game, and then you may get more scores in the game!

In this article I am going to give you 3 golf slice cures to cure your golf slice. And you should be hitting the ball with a draw in weeks. Your golfing buddies will no longer tease you and tell you to ‘take the headcover off that driver’!

Step 1

The first place to look for a golf slice cure is your grip. Strengten it. Turn both hands more to the right so that the ‘v’ s formed by your thumb and first finger are pointing outside your right shoulder.

This is a pretty dramatic move but will give you the sensation of hitting a draw or hook pretty quickly. When this happens you will fill with confidence and soon will be able to aim down the right hand side of the fairway and know that your ball will draw back into the middle of the fairway.

Don’t overdose with this cure though..after a little while if you are getting into trouble on the left hand side of the course you can tweak your grip again, but this time you will be doing it with the confidence of hitting draw shots rather than slices and your set up and alignment will improve as a result.

Step 2

Make sure your set up and alignment are spot on..when you slice you will overcompensate for this by aiming to the left. The result of this is that you can acquire the bad habit of open shoulders at address. Playing with a stronger grip will automatically force you to turn your shoulders slightly more closed rather than open.

Step 3

Work on your release through impact. What you need to aim for is a full flowing release with the right forearm climbing up and over the left through impact and into the follow through.

Practice this release without a ball and work also on swinging the club about knee height and watch as the club closes through impact.

Still slicing? Close that clubface earlier in the downswing.

Golf Slice Cure- Easy Steps to Resolve the Problem

One of the most common golf flight faults encountered by golfers is to “slice” the golf ball.  To identify if you are slicing the golf ball, check out your ball flight.  For right handed golfers, a golf slice occurs when the golf ball starts left of the target and then curves right of the target (often far right of the target)!

Here are several of our favorite golf slice practice drills to use on the driving range to help cure your golf slice instantly!

Golf Slice Tee Drill

Benefits

Helps corrects slices caused by OUT-IN swings and encourages proper IN-SQUARE-IN swing path.

Steps

1. Place two tees and a golf ball right to left diagonally (think of tic tac toe) with a tee in the upper right quadrant, your golf ball in the middle and another tee in the lower left quadrant.  Make sure to leave about four inches of spacing from each tee to the golf ball.
2. Assume normal setup and ball position with 7-iron.
3. Your goal is to hit the ball crisply without hitting either of the tees.

This golf slice drill is helpful because it forces you to take the proper IN-SQUARE-IN swing path to impact.  A common cause of the golf slice is to cut across the golf ball with an OUT-TO-IN golf swing (also known as “over the top”) which can put clockwise spin on the ball and send the ball left to right.  With the “golf slice tee drill” if you swing OUT-TO-IN you will hit the first and/or second tee.

Golf Slice “Right Foot Back”

Benefits

This golf slice drill helps correct also encourages the proper IN-SQUARE-IN swing path.

Steps

1. Use a 7-iron and a teed up golf ball and perform this practice drill at half speed.
2. Take narrow stance, then place your right foot back one foot.
3. Make sure to swing along IN – TO – SQUARE – TO – IN wing path and make solid ball contact.
4. As you begin to hit solid golf shots, bring your right foot back even with your left foot and hit golf shots without the tee.
