Golfers nowadays might take their devices manufacturers for granted. They assume what they see in commercials on Television is what the business represents. Not several gamers really just take the time to discover out the historical past of a organization ahead of they make a acquire, customers in basic don’t usually abide by these policies. In good faith they appear at buyer reviews, guides, store around for the finest cost, and leave it at that. One organization, which has been in the spotlight of golf for many many years, is Callaway Golf. How a lot of golfers in fact know that Callaway commenced out as the Hickory Stick Firm?Founded in 1982 when Ely Reeves Callaway, Jr. bought a stake in the Hickory Stick USA Business. How to Prepare For a Golf Tournament

How to Prepare For a Golf Tournament

Article by Maxx Johnson

Your club’s Match Play or Club Championship is coming up, so how do you get your game in shape? Your tournament will not have grand stands and TV cameras but do not think you will not feel the pressure. With a little thought and preparation, you can give yourself the needed confidence to beat your archrival, win the Club Championship or Match Play tournament.

Granted with your tournament nerves, you are probably not going to be swinging as smooth as Ernie Els when the big day arrives. Now is NOT the time to start messing with your golf swing. I repeat. It is NOT the time to make any major golf swing changes. First of all this is supposed to be fun. You know, better than anyone, your own tendencies. Depending on how much time you have before your golf tournament, chances are you are going to have to find a way to play with what you got. This is fine.

Most of these types of tournaments are flighted. This means players with similar handicaps are pitted against each other. What you can do is check your basics. Review your posture, grip, alignment, and ball position and insure they are in the best shape they can be for your game. Hitting balls is fine but do not go overboard on making changes. The most effective thing you can work on is your swing tempo and insuring that your golf swing is in balance. You can do this by simply counting to three once you finish your golf swing.

Since the average of greens hit in regulation on the PGA Tour is only twelve, you will miss some greens during your round. Set up a practice schedule for your short game up until the golf tournament. You can go out in the evenings when the course is quiet. Go from green to green hitting multiple pitch and chip shots from all around the green. In addition, choose a couple of “nasty” lies just in case you hit a good shot that ends up in a bad place. Although the ultimate goal is to hole the ball, sometime you may need to play away from the hole to be able to make the next shot easier.

Spend most of your time on the practice putting green working on short putts, very short putts. Hit as many two to three foot putts as you can. This does a couple of things for you. First it gives you confidence to see the ball go in the hole over and over again. Second, you will be able to see if you are starting the golf ball on the correct line.

Do not forget to take a look at your golf equipment. Are your grips in good shape? Do they need replaced? If your grips do not need to be replaced, scrub them vigorously with a stiff brush. Use a solution of warm water and dishwashing soap with a degreaser to clean your grips. The degreaser will help remove the oil and dirt buildup that accumulates from your hands over a period of time. Rinse your grips well and pat dry with a towel.

Tournament day is here! Go through your normal warm up. Hit a few pitches, and make sure before you leave the practice green you make about five or ten two footers in a row. Seeing and hearing the ball go in the hole will give you great confidence as you head to the golf course.

You Don’t Have to Be Bubba Watson or John Daly to Hit the Golf Ball 300 Yards

You Don’t Have to Be Bubba Watson or John Daly to Hit the Golf Ball 300 Yards

The average distance of the top 100 Golfers in the world is 280 Yards….these guys are the best players in the world and they aren’t hitting it that much further than the average golfer (AND the fairways on the PGA Tour are probably the same speed as most golf courses’ greens).

SO, what does this mean for you? Well, I’ve broken down the steps you can take that will instantly improve your driving distance. There’s nothing stopping you to averaging what the pros do!

1. Get a Driver with a Higher Loft

– My buddy used to have a 7.0 degree Driver (I’m not sure why exactly – maybe he thought it was cool) and used to average 270 yards off the tee. He switched to a 9.5 degree Driver and now averages 290+.

– A higher loft gives you more carrying distance and the same amount of roll; however, it needs to be fitted properly to your swing in order to reap the benefits.

2. A Driver that is Custom-Fitted

]]>

– Take the time to get your Driver fitted properly by going to a Golf Shop and working with a professional. If you can’t afford a new Driver or just bought one, still go and get the shaft optimized for your swing.

– By doing just this, you can gain an extra 20-yards overnight.

3. Having the Proper Setup

– Wide stance (just past shoulder width apart)

– Shoulders at an angle (back shoulder is lower than the front) allowing you to hit the ball on your upswing (higher trajectory = more distance)!

– Ball positioned off the front toe.

– Flare out your front toe (at a 45 degree angle – no further) forcing you to clear your hips and lower body more quickly. You’ll notice the difference.

4. Confidence

– Most of the time when golfers hit bad shots it’s because they are thinking too much about the mechanics of their swing vs. the execution or “emotion” of the shot about to be played.

– Focus on your confidence – meaning that in your mind, you know that you’re going to step up and hit it long and straight down the middle. You will consistently hit better shots doing this vs. thinking about how far to take the club back or to make sure you follow through correctly.

BONUS: Learn to Hit a Draw

– It’s a fact – a draw or hook travels further than a fade or slice. If you can learn to hit a draw you WILL add at least 10 yards to your drives.

– Close your stance, bring the club back inside, and fully release your hands.

– One thing to be cautious of is that a draw is more difficult to control than a fade, which means that the odd time your draw will turn into a hook (this happens even to the pros). My recommendation is to not hit a draw all the time, but to utilize it when you need a bit of extra distance.

The Most Powerful Move in Golf

The Most Powerful Move in Golf

This article is written for those who would like an open and honest detailed review into the most powerful move in golf. I am personal friends with Martin Ayers and Steve Elkington. I have been fortunate to be able to work with Martin Ayers one on one. I met him over a six months ago through a site known as Secret in the dirt that Steve Elkington created as a free online community for every level of golfer to be able to connect and share anything and everything golf related.

Personally I own a golf academy for kids and through implementing what I have learned and teaching my personal students there is no doubt that the most powerful move in golf will change anyone’s swing immediately by following the simple drills outlined in the video.

So what is the most powerful move in golf ?

The Most Powerful Move in Golf is a collaboration effort between 10 time PGA tour winner Steve Elkington, Golf Instructor Martin Ayers along with legendary World Golf Hall of fame Jackie Burke.

Steve Elkington is an Australian professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He spent over 50 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Rankings from 1995 to 1998. Elkington has won 10 events on the PGA Tour, most prodigiously the 1995 PGA Championship at the Riviera Country Club, which is his only major, and the 1991 and 1997 Players Championships. Elkington was a member of the International Team in the 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2000 Presidents Cups. In 1995, he was awarded the Vardon Trophy; this award is given annually by the PGA of America to the tour player with the lowest scoring average.

]]>

Martin Ayers is an Australian golf instructor. Martin developed a large following in his own right by expressing his unique ideas on Youtube and in various golf forums. He was also one of the earliest members of Secret in the Dirt when in launched in April of 2010.

He began working with Steve Elkington in the Spring of 2010. The concepts that he worked on with Elk are now presented here in “The Most Powerful Move in Golf.”

When the two connected, they began collaborating on Elk’s swing together, and began work on The Most Powerful Move in Golf. Within the video, you’ll discover:

1. How Martin Ayers came to understand The Most Powerful Move

2. Why it is so effective the average golfer

3. How to implement the Move into your swing easily and effortlessly.

Here are what a few people are saying about Martin and The Most Powerful Move DVD:

“I could go on for hours about the specifics and whatnot, but all I can say is that Martin is seriously a genius of the golf swing, through some unorthodox drills and ideas, you will get a lot better hitting the ball and can really change the way you look at golf “.

The wait for “The Most Powerful Move in Golf” seemed like an eternity! But I can tell you now it was well worth it!

“The video is a great piece of work. Martin has discovered something very important. If this isn’t Hogan’s Secret then Hogan never had one.

Take if from a guy who feels like he has tried everything — I literally have read well over 150 books on this game — Martin’s stuff is the real deal. For the price of a round of golf at a municipal course (perhaps with a cart in some places), you can learn a move that will put more power, accuracy, and confidence in your game. That is the bottom line”.

“I bought & downloaded Martin’s video and got up at 5.00am this morning to try the swing. As a devoted TGM admirer I found the moves Martin succinctly described very useful and I did get the ball to fly 10-15% further. The biggest improvement I found was that the move kept the pressure points on my grip intact without having to grip the club any harder. Occasionally my grip separates at the top, not any more. The description of the swing was well described and easy to follow”.

“If you have not given Martin’s method a try all you are doing is cheating yourself out of a lot of great golf…”.

Reviews on Mizuno JPX AD Irons

Testing sessions around Japan have begun for the prelaunch of the new Mizuno JPX AD line for 2010. Thanks to Nikkan Sports we were able to get a preview of the new clubs including the new JPX Maraging face irons, JPX Forged irons.

Mizuno like many manufacturers have moved away from the titanium face to a maraging face on their GI irons which provide as hot feel and very good ball speeds. (Mizuno MX-1000 Irons)The JPX AD Maraging features a large pocket cavity and wide sole. This automatic iron is made for maximum forgiveness and distance.

The JPX Forged has always been a forged automatic model for the average golfer and the new JPX Forged are no different as they seem to sport an even thicker topline that previous models. Mizuno however has continued not to use a pocket cavity for the forged model to maintain the soft feel.

Mizuno Forged Irons began with the Mizuno Golf Company in 1933 but they did not become available in the United States until 1982. They were considered the #1 golf irons to be used on the PGA tour throughout the 1990’s and are still used today. The technology continues to advance with their strategic weight distributions. They currently offer three leading lines of irons

How To Play an Intelligent Game of Golf

How To Play an Intelligent Game of Golf

Article by Martin Romano

Golf is a sport that can be so challenging. It is a game played with strategy which requires a combination of physical effort and mental intelligence. If you think golfers just look beyond the landscape and hit the ball at random then you are wrong. This is a game wherein the player wins by putting the golf ball in the designated hole with the least number of strokes. That sounds easy but once you get on the fairway it can get very difficult and frustrating.

Golfers love the sport because it involves a lot of exercise like walking and twisting of the body. It is also mentally challenging thinking of how to drive the ball into the tiny hole you can see only from a distance. You have to calculate in your mind factors like distance, wind speed and the number of strokes it will take to achieve your goals.

Seasoned players took years to perfect their games. They did not just learn on their own. They also sought the help of other golfers. You can do some self study as well. You can get free information on the internet on how to play an intelligent game of golf. You can read articles and comments from other players where you can get sound advice on how to improve the quality of your strokes. There are also books offered on line that can help you with making the mental strategies you would need in playing the game.

Books like “Finally: The Golf Swing’s Simple Secret” written by JF Tamayo and “Zen Golf: Mastering the Mental Game” authored by Dr. Jose Parent, a PGA Tour Instructor are very effective reading material that can help you improve the way you play. It teaches you a new level of approach on how to play this sport. These books are offered and sold at http://www.IndoorGolfNets.org.

Perfect Your Golf Swing Alignment

Perfect Your Golf Swing Alignment

Article by Brad Myers

If you ask the players on the PGA Tour to name what they believe to be the most important golf fundamentals, there is no doubt that golf swing alignment would be towards the top of the list. However, most amateurs either do not know or do not admit how important golf swing alignment is to their success.

It is amazing how you always have certain things that stick with you that you have heard from your different instructors. On the topic of golf swing alignment, one of my old instructors used to say.You can have the biggest and boldest cannon and it does not mean anything to you if it is not aimed in the correct direction.. There are many sayings that I am sure that you have heard along these lines. Obviously, you can hit the perfect golf shot but if it is aimed 30 yards to the left of the target the results are not going to be to your liking.

Since golf swing alignment is a main fundamental to each and every golf shot, here are some simple exercises that you can quickly and easily do to check your golf swing alignment.

First, setup to a golf shot as you normally would and make sure you are comfortable. Now that you are ready to make your golf swing, place a tee directly behind each of your heels and push both tees all the way into the ground. Now move away from your setup and place a club.s shaft over both of the tees to create a straight line. Now, go behind your ball and look down the target line. Does it match what you thought?

This golf alignment exercise shows you exactly where you are aligning your feet. If your pictures do not match, then you can simply change or move the tees so they align correctly and then setup with the tees touching the back of your heels. If you were not aligned properly, do not be surprised that when you setup to your next shot with your heels properly placed that you will feel that you are aimed somewhere else. If your feet have been aligned incorrectly for a while, then it will feel quite strange when you do align them correctly. Keeping track of your alignment, your new feet position will become second nature in no time at all.

Another easy way to check your alignment is to assume your address position, remove your left hand from the club and simply point to a spot 10 yards to the left (for a right-handed golfer) of your target. Monitor where your arm and finger are pointing opposed to where your shoulders and hips are pointing. They should feel like they are creating a straight line. If you feel they are pointing to the left then you are prone to hit a push or a hook. If pointing to the right, you are prone to hit a pull or a slice.

As the PGA Tour players would agree, your golf swing alignment is one of the most important golf fundamentals for each golf shot that you take. You must check it often, because it’s very easy to align yourself incorrectly without even knowing it. That is why I would be surprised if you were on driving range at a PGA Tour stop and did not see several players with clubs on the ground to assist with their golf swing alignment. Now that you know exactly what you need to do to check your golf swing alignment, you should be hitting more golf shots at your target and lowering your scores.

Tiger Is Far From Finished on PGA Tour

Tiger Is Far From Finished on PGA Tour

Article by Marina

Thought Tiger Woods is not the Number One of Office World Golf Ranking, a lot of golf fans think that he would back as soon as possible.

Last week, Tiger Woods get an injury, what next for him? In this article, I would like to tell you the newest golf news about Tiger Wood with PGA Tour. If you want to know much more golf news or TaylorMade R9 SuperTri Driver reviews, you may read this funny article – Thousands Of Applicants For 2011 U.S. Open in my blog.

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods showed everyone that he was back at the Masters earlier this month, giving us an epic rally from a five shot deficit to hold a share of the lead in the clubhouse on Sunday.

Then, the comeback became even more impressive when we learned that Woods was playing with injuries to his MCL and Achilles tendon, injuries which figure to sideline the 13-time Masters champ for a few weeks now.

But, don’t take this latest malady to mean that Woods’ goose is cooked on the PGA Tour; in fact, it could be just what he needs to get himself back on track.

Confused? It’s simple, really; Woods’ biggest flaw at Augusta was without a doubt his putter. Woods’ inability to hole putts cost him the tournament, and while the rest of his game looked to be in tip top shape, his putting looked like it was still miles from being back.

Now, he can take as much time as he needs over the next few weeks focusing all his energy on his putting. He can hobble over to the putting green at his Jupiter, Florida estate and just stand there, knocking balls into holes.

The rest of Tigers game was sharper than ever at Augusta; now, he’s basically been given orders to work solely on that aspect of his game which has given him the most trouble. On top of that, it’s not like this injury is really all that serious; it’s a fairly common one for golfers to suffer on the Tour, and Woods himself said it’s nothing more than a minor malady.

The fact is that Tiger Woods is closer to being back than ever, injury or no injury. His putting will come around sooner or later, and now that he’s been ordered to rest his injury, he could take the chance to improve that area of his game.

If he actually manages to figure something out in the next few weeks, don’t be surprised to see him tear apart the U.S. Open on one of his all-time favorite courses. In Review: TaylorMade Rossa Siena Putter

In Review: TaylorMade Rossa Siena Putter

For a golf company that’s most acclaimed for its drivers, TaylorMade is sure on a roll with its putters. While Sergio Garcia was making noise with his TaylorMade Rossa Corzina belly putter during last week’s British Open, Joe Ogilvie was concurrently wielding a Rossa LeMans putter for his first PGA Tour win at the U.S. Bank Championship.

TaylorMade’s Rossa putter line also underwent an extreme makeover earlier this year, with a striking new red-on-black color scheme and enhanced AGSI+ grooved insert technology. Is the result just another pretty face—or a putter to be reckoned with?

Following is PutterZone.com’s review of the Rossa Siena putter (9), which belongs to the Rossa Classics family of traditionally shaped putters.

The Storyline
TaylorMade’s first Rossa putters were introduced in 2001, and the new generation of Rossa putters was released early this year. As one would expect with a name like “Rossa,” the line’s signature color is red, which is most recognizable in the red face inserts. Garcia’s putter literally screamed “Rossa” every time a television camera got near his putter during the British Open. From a branding standpoint, that’s quite an accomplishment.

The Rossa Siena model and other new Rossa putters feature AGSI+ technology, which stands for Anti-skid Groove System Insert. The “+” stands for improvements made to the original AGSI technology found on earlier Rossa putters.

PutterZone.com asked TaylorMade to explain the improvements, and here’s what they said: “What makes AGSI+ superior to the original is the addition of two grooves, which raises the total to 14 from 12, and which brings the grooves 22 percent closer together. That brings more grooves into contact with the ball more often, allowing AGSI+ to more efficiently negate backspin and promote forward spin at impact, generating smoother roll and helping the player make more putts.”

The insert’s grooves are also filled with a soft polymer material “that depresses at impact inside of the groove so that it exposes the edge of the groove, thus promoting forward spin.”

The Rossa Siena’s head is made from 304 stainless steel and the insert is made of Titallium, a lightweight composite alloy. The putter is heel-toe weighted for higher moment of inertia (MOI) and enhanced forgiveness.

The View from PutterZone.com
Like the previous generation of Rossa putters, the new generation is rather colorful—but now the effect is more sophisticated and integrated, resulting in a very stylish ensemble. The red insert is artfully harnessed in midnight black instead of hollering at us from a stainless steel finish, which was a jarring combination. A dash of yellow-gold flows through the face insert, cavity logo and grip, adding a sporty touch. This putter will get noticed—and for all the right reasons.

In functional terms, the Siena looks like a PING Anser that got a manicure in Milan. The edges are soft and elegant, flowing gracefully into a gooseneck hosel. The upper sole features two white sightlines that hug the core of the ball at address. These sightlines are quite assertive against the black of the putter head, providing strong visual synergy with the ball at address.

Another nice touch is the fact that the putter’s finish is glossy black on the face and sole for added aesthetic sizzle, but matte black on the crown and upper sole to minimize potential solar glare. Upon close inspection, the putter appears to be tightly constructed and precisely assembled.

In terms of truer roll, I can’t really testify to the efficacy of the AGSI+ groove technology, at least not without a robot and some slow-motion cameras. I can say that it doesn’t hurt, and that it likely helps, though in ways more subtle than startling. The feel and sound are surprisingly soft for a metallic insert (perhaps owing to the polymer groove filling), making the Siena a good choice for those who want added suppleness without the sponginess often associated with synthetic inserts.

Overall, the Rossa Siena putter performed quite well for me. No single thing blew my mind, but that’s really not the point of a sleek, classically shaped blade putter like the Siena. This is a putter that you play, not a putter that plays you. If you do your job, this putter will put the ball in the hole.

The Bottom Line
The Rossa Siena offers both brains and beauty, with nice playability and a stylish personality. The color scheme might not appeal to everyone, but it will attract many, especially those who prefer a traditional putter shape but have a yen for edgier aesthetics. TaylorMade went the extra mile with its new Rossa putters, offering considerable attention to detail at a relatively affordable price. If you want to look sharp and play well without breaking the bank, the Rossa Siena can’t be ignored.
