The Callaway FT-iQ Driver features the best combination of distance and accuracy in a driver Callaway Golf has ever made. The refined head shape has a sleek and stealthy look while raising the MOI (moment of inertia) for unprecedented accuracy off the tee, while Hyperbolic Face Technology significantly raises ball speeds across the entire face for increased distance.Features: 1. Hyperbolic Face Technology: Hyperbolic shaping is the cutting edge of driver face design – mathematics and engineering combine to create Callaway’s highest ever ball speeds across the entire face; 2. Fusion Technology: Creates maximum perimeter weighting and more discretionary weight by combining a carbon composite body with the titanium face cup, allowing for precise positioning of the CG (center of gravity) to generate the straightest drives possible; 3. Improved Complete Inertial Design: Positions discretionary weight deeper and to the extreme corners, raising the MOI for unparalleled forgiveness on shots hit anywhere on the face; 4. Visible External Weighting: Strategically placed weighting in the rear corners helps create the straightest drives possible with ideal ball-flight trajectories to maximize distance; 5. Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki Shaft Exclusive to the FT-iQ Drivers: This ultra premium shaft has been designed with Modulus Differential Technology (MDT) for tour-level high launch, low spin performance.Creating the highest level of performance takes the brightest minds exploiting cutting edge materials, shapes and technologies. The new FT-iQ Driver advances the revolutionary ideas that went into the FT-i Driver to become the straightest driver Callaway Golf has ever made. The refined head shape has a sleek and stealthy look while raising the MOI for unprecedented accuracy off the tee. Hyperbolic Face Technology significantly raises ball speeds across the entire face for increased distance. The exclusive Fubuki shaft from Mitsubishi Rayon adds to the incredible feel and performance. This club may take a traditional golfer a little longer to get use to looking at but I guarantee looking at your ball landing in play instead of out of bounds will help you make that switch a lot quicker. No matter what your handicap there are Callaway FT-iQ golf clubs to fit your game!Golfers’ review:This is the longest driver I’v ever hit. I like the Callaway drivers and I love it. It is great for high handicappers and anyone who struggles with finding the fairway. The FT-IQ does everything I need it to do and more. I started with the 11* non tour model and was very pleased. I then bought the 9.5* Tour head and was even more impressed. Even with the 0.5* open face I rarely find myself slicing the ball. If you’re looking for something that will help to fix a slice then this club will help.Amazing golf tool – I’ve now got lengths I had never dreamed of. This is by fare the best buy I have ever done. The sound is a bit strange compared to my previous driver and at first I found the shape a bit disturbing – but it keeps its promise – straight and long – so who cares about looks and sound. I have been playing the FT-i for a couple of years; I tried FT-IQ the other day. After a few trips to the range and a round of golf, it would appear this is a better club in every way over the FT-i. The sound is far better; much more like a normal titanium faced club and much less clang. It is at least as straight as its predecessor and much longer. The ball flight is lower and more penetrating (a huge bonus in Texas winds) and on average I hit it about 20-25 yards longer. All in all, Callaway took a good club and improved it in every way. That is definitely the straightest driver I put my hands on and one of the longest as well; but definitely it is more straighter than longer. The sound also is very satisfying unlike the hollow, tinny sound I was used with the other FT’s I owned. I can honestly say this is the best I have ever used. Great work Callaway! This driver is incredible. It excels at hitting the ball straight as an arrow with piercing flight. I used it for the first time on the course and it was very forgiving. Swinging it feels really good and at address it looks easy to hit. Great performance overall.More information at http://www.discountwholesalegolf.com/callaway-ftiq-driver-p-334.html?cPath=83_84

My experience about Callaway FT-iQ Tour Driver

My experience about Callaway FT-iQ Tour Driver

The Callaway FT-IQ driver may be the most forgiving driver ever developed by Callaway. The concept for this driver is truly unique, and it may very well be the best driver ever designed by them. This club was designed with smart MOI (Moment of Inertia) technology that was taken from the Stealth Bomber and Formula 1 racing cars. Doing this has allowed Callaway to create a sleek club head with one goal in mind, straighter distance on the drive.

The technology used to create the hyperbolic face creates a new cutting edge design. This produces much higher performance across the entire club face. What does that mean for us? Well, quite simply put, it creates the highest ball speeds ever generated. With the increased ball speeds every golfer gets their dream, more distance off the tee.

The Complete Inertial Design (CID) and Fusion Technology (FT) together result in unparalleled forgiveness and improved MOI (Moment of Inertia) which result in increased stability at impact. This also lends itself to greater distance and straighter drives. This design of this club has resulted in the most forgiving driver on the market.

The visible external weighting on this driver is strategically placed in the rear of the club. This allows golfers the ability to control their ball flight better. Improved ball control, longer straighter drives and maximum ball speeds all designed specifically for us to be able to better our golf game by hitting longer straighter drives that we can control. What more could we ask for in a driver?

I have been using this club for the last 6 months and it has truly been the best driver I have ever used. I switched from the TaylorMade R7 460 driver, which was also a very nice driver, after I tried the Callaway FT-IQ Driver that a friend had. We were on the range and I’ve always been able to hit the ball a long way, but accuracy wasn’t always there. Once I started hitting this driver I had to get one for myself. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to control the ball and even work the ball. It is truly an amazing piece of work and was designed to be the most forgiving driver for all skill levels.

Not Slicing the Golf Ball Takes Careful Understanding

Not Slicing the Golf Ball Takes Careful Understanding

In order to slice a golf ball (impart a left to right ball flight for a right handed golfer) you have to strike the golf ball in a manner that will cause a clockwise rotation of the ball. The more dramatic the rotation the more dramatic or worse the golf slice.

For the context of this article, I will speak from a right handed golfer’s swing and perspective.

When defining the golf slice there are a couple of basics characteristics to the ball flight. First, there is the slice that initially may start down the target line then move off line in a left to right movement. This type of slice tells us that the swing path was traveling down the intended target line, but at impact the club face was left open and did not get back to a square position at impact. Usually this type of golf slice doesn’t produce as sever of left to right movement of the golf ball since the swing path itself was not cutting across the ball in an outside to inside manner. This type of slicing of the golf ball is more easily cured. And can usually be done so with a bit of work on the golfer’s setup, alignment, and or grip.

The second type of golf slice is the one that plagues the vast majority of beginning and high handicap golfer’s. This is the type of slice that produces the ‘banana ball’ type of flight and is very uncontrollable and frustrating.

The attributes of this type of slice for the golfer are the ball will initially start left of the target line indicating that the swing path is incorrect right from the get go. When the ball immediately begins left of the target line that tells you that your swing path has come from the outside to the inside.

Now, having done that with your swing, doesn’t necessarily guarantee that you are going to slice the golf ball but you sure have made much easier for a slice to occur. Now combine the outside to inside swing path with an open clubface at impact and you now have a golf shot that starts left and has the double whammy of a slicing swing path across the golf ball, and an open club face. With these two laws of physics going for you; you have just produced one beautiful slice. One that only a proud parent could love! You know the one I’m talking about. The ball that travels 300 yards total distance, but only about 220 yards further down the course (if you can find it all).

A golfer who is plagued with this type of golf slice is going to require quite a bit more work in order to correct this because their basic swing is flawed and must be corrected. But, it’s important to understand what it is in your golf swing and your golf swing mechanics that makes the ball do what it does. Once you understand the 9 rules of ball flight you’ll be more able to understand what it is in your swing that is producing the flight of the ball you are seeing, and as such you can more quickly address and adjust to ensure success.

The adjustments can be manufactured in .5 degree increments, providing you a complete of 8 diverse FTC positions.

‘Adjustable Sole Plate’ (ASP) is the name provided to the part that permits you to alter the deal with angel. With 3 settings this new technological innovation makes it possible for you to possibly open or near the clubface by 2 degrees, or leave it in a neutral position, which indicates you can now independently tune the encounter angel with no transforming the loft or launch angel.

The ultimate adjustment variable is the ‘Movable Body weight Technology’. This component permits you to good tune the center of gravity spot in the Taylormade R11 Driver by applying two diverse adjustable weights that are secured into the heel and toe ends of the driver which assists to promote both a draw or a neutral ball flight path, and offers up to 25 yards of left to appropriate adjustability.

TaylorMade is one particular of the favourite and largest names in golf. Several golf bags are outfitted the exact and will include things like driver, woods, irons, wedges and a putter. When acquiring the golf set, a single would hope the golfer wouldn’t be searching for what is the least high priced, instead what the ideal fit for the golfer is. Every single club must match the golfer to a tee, giving the player the finest chance to play the game very well.

The very first tee off is normally with the driver, the most important club of the total bag. Imagine of the driver as the slingshot to the pin, you want the driver to be able to get your ball as significantly up the fairway as probable, hopefully earning you that birdie or eagle possibility. When obtaining your driver, we all want the greatest, and what is going to aid your personal swing the most.

The TaylorMade R11 Driver is one particular of the finest drivers out there on the market. Flight Control Know-how permits the golfer to modify the loft of the driver, with no have to transform the lie.

The greatest driver on the industry is not often what is observed in the bag of all golfers, fairly the ideal driver is what matches very best for the golfer. The game is about what the golfer puts into it mentally and physically, as nicely the kind of golf clubs that are applied. When practicing the game of golf, it is vital to be in a position to alter the settings of the driver so the preferred benefits are obtained. The TaylorMade R11 gives the golfer the power to modify the loft and lie, the face angle, and the CG site. These features on your own set the driver apart from its opponents. TaylorMade has established a little something called 3D Tuning which is the tuning potential of the three vital concepts to a golfer’s swing, the loft, and angle and flight route. The hope of owning the greatest club achievable for any golfer, lies within the clubs he chooses to use for the game.

Working The Ball – Fade, Draw, High, Low

Working The Ball – Fade, Draw, High, Low

Although at times it seems like the golf ball when hit chooses its own flight path, this is not true the ball only responds to how it was hit. Was it hit by a square, closed or open club face, was it hit with 21 degrees or 34 degrees of loft, was the club head traveling at 80 miles per hour or 100 miles per hour. It is really all a matter of physics.

What if those different ball flights and the conditions that created them could be controlled? The good news is they can, and once you know how to create the exact ball flight you need for the shot at hand, you have many more weapons at your disposal to put the ball where you want it. The better news is it only requires small variations of the your regular full golf swing to create these shots.

These are the nine different ball flights you would want to know how to create;

Straight with normal trajectory, this is the shot you want to use if there is no trouble to avoid, you just need the ball in the middle of the fairway. Straight with higher than normal trajectory, this shot could be used if you had some obstacle, such as a tree you wanted to go over.
Straight with lower than normal trajectory, maybe you need to stay under some branches, or you want to keep it lower going into the wind.
slight movement to the right, highly skilled players who use this shot can control how much it moves to the right. Possibly the pin is on the right side of the green, you might want the ball to start at the middle of the green, but work to the right.
A fade with a high flight, might be used if that right pin placement is behind a front trap.
A fade with a low ball flight, how about trees with low branches in front of you and the fairway or green to your right.
Moving to the left this is called a draw, (again for a right handed shot) not to be confused with a hook, the draw is a controlled movement to the left and is said to produce the most roll.
A draw with a high flight, now the pin is to the left and tucked behind a sand trap.
A draw with a low flight, same scenario as the low fade, only you need to get to the left.

You see these shots attempted every week on the pro tours, not always as planned. Some of the players are not adept at creating all of these shots, those who are have more weapons to choose from.

Investing the time and practice necessary for learning to execute these shots as needed will make your game better and lower your scores. You will have much more confidence in your golfing ability, and be part of an elite group, not many recreational golfers are skilled at working the ball effectively.

What are the different types of golf shots?

What are the different types of golf shots?

Though it sometimes seems that there are dozens of different golf shots that a golfer must learn to be a “good golfer” (e.g., consistently shoot in the 70’s or 80’s), there really are only a critical few golf shots that matter outside of the putting game.  If golfers can master these critical golf shots which can be applied and adapted for just about any golf situation, then they will certainly see a drop in their scores and more consistency in their game.  Below is a listing and description of each of these golf shots and how they are applied around the golf course.

1.Straight Golf Shots: As the name implies, a straight golf shot starts straight and holds the line toward the target.  It is used when the target is straight in front of you and shaping the golf shot right or left is unnecessary.  A straight golf shot is achieved when all the golf fundamentals are executed and synchronized effectively including setup position, grip, swing path and weight transfer.

2.Draw Golf Shots: A draw golf shot is used to curve a shot right to left around an obstacle to the target. The basic fundamentals of straight golf shots are followed, except alignment is right of the target and the grip is rotated in a “stronger” position to encourage right to left ball flight.

3.Fade Golf Shots: A fade golf shot is used to curve a shot left to right around an obstacle to the target. Similar to a draw, the basic fundamentals of straight golf shots are followed, except alignment is left of the target and the grip is rotated in a “weaker” position to encourage left to right ball flight.

4.Fairway Bunker Golf Shots: A fairway bunker golf shot is hit from fairway bunkers adjacent to the fairway. A good fairway bunker shot can position you well for your next shot and help save your score.  On these shots, it is important to position the body so that ball lies in the middle of your stance and stand “taller” throughout the shot to strike the ball cleanly.

5.Greenside Bunker Golf Shots: A greenside bunker golf shot is hit from bunker adjacent or very close to the putting surface. Since loft, rather than distance, is more important on these golf shots, it is important to position the ball forward in the stance while weight is distributed (and kept) favoring the left side throughout the golf shot.

6.Pitch Golf Shots: Pitch golf shot spends more time in the air than on ground and are typically used when 60 yards or more from the putting green.  The setup and weight distribution used for pitch shots are different than for straight, draw and fade golf shots and a lofted club such as a sand wedge or lob wedge is used.

7.Chip Golf Shots: Chip golf shots are typically used when the golf ball is 3 to 6 feet off the green and putting the ball is not a good option.  Chip shots are miniature versions of the full swing where just enough power is applied to land the ball quickly on the surface and roll toward the cup.

Of course, there are several other types of golf shots, but most are just variations of the ones above.  If golfers can focus on mastering these golf shots, then their games are sure to quickly improve.

Golf Tips to Measure your Results on the Practice Range

Golf Tips to Measure your Results on the Practice Range

Practice is important in any sport and golf is no exception. To really improve your game you must spend time fine tuning your swing. But many golfers simply “hit balls” on the practice range without checking to see if they are improving. Here are some tips to help measure the effectiveness of your practice sessions on the driving range.

First, you must identify your objective on the range. Some people are trying to fix a slice or a hook while others are trying to add distance to their shots. If you do not know what your objective is you will not know if you have achieved it. You may not have a noticeable flaw to correct but you need to train your muscles so you can make good shots consistently. So hitting consistently is your objective in that case. Just make sure you have a clear idea of your purpose.

Second, it does not matter too much if you quit slicing or hooking the ball, or if you add 30 yards to your drive if your shots are spraying to the left or right. You may have eliminated the slice in your ball flight, but did the ball actually go towards your target? I have heard people “oooh” and “ahhh” over their practice shots even though one went well to the left of what appeared to be their target line and the next went just as far to the right. Make sure you identify a target and gauge if you are hitting the ball within a few yards on either side of that target until the balls rolls to a stop.

Third, always hit a variety of clubs in a random order on the range. This will better reflect how a real round of golf is played. You never hit your seven iron fifteen times in a row on a normal round of golf so do not get locked into hitting only your seven iron on the practice range even if it is your seven iron that needs the work. For example, to work on your seven iron try hitting your seven a few times, then hit a 3-wood a couple of times, then hit a four-iron, then a wedge, then back to the seven for a few shots. This will help you practice your set-up routine for various shots since usually you address the ball and take your stance slightly differently for woods, low irons and high irons respectively.

Fourth, do not be in a hurry. Take a break for a minute or two after hitting a dozen balls or so. If you exhaust yourself you may begin making poor swings due to your tiring out that would almost never happen in a round of golf because on the course there is almost always a few minutes between shots that require a full swing.

Finally, take time at home some evening to write down on an index card the swing keys that help you prepare for taking a golf shot. Most people will have a list of five to eight things. Go through your set-up routine in your mind and jot down, in order, what you do to check your alignment, grip, stance, weight distribution, etc… and take that card with you to the practice range. Then read it over before EVERY practice shot for the first ten or fifteen shots. Train your mind to go through that list so it becomes a habit when you are playing a round of golf.

Hopefully you will develop your own list of golf tips from your time spent on the practice range and you will graduate from just “hitting balls” to actually tuning your swing by having a yard stick by which to measure your results on the practice range.

Golf Slice Cures: Use This Tip and Cure Your Golf Slice For Good

Golf Slice Cures: Use This Tip and Cure Your Golf Slice For Good

Do you have a golf slice that you just can’t seem to get rid of?  Are you tired of sending your shots into the woods and losing dozens of balls?  Well, here is a really good tip that may help you cure that golf slice once and for all.  Best of all, it’s really pretty simple once you get the hang of it and understand why it is being used.

Did you know that more than 70 percent of golfers struggle with slicing the ball at some point in their golf career?  Dealing with a slice is not fun and it can hurt your golf game in several ways.  The good news is, it’s fairly easy to correct it.  I cannot claim that this small tip will COMPLETELY cure your slice, but there is a good chance that it will, and I hope it does.

When you come into the impact zone, there are really only 2 factors that can determine the “shape” of ball flight.

 1. The angle of the club face at impact.

2. The Path the club is taking at impact.

You’d agree, that’s really not that tough to understand. The tough part is explaining how to correct it, and keeping this article short at the same time. Anyway, here’s a few things you should concentrate on:

Golf Slice Cure Tip #1 – Try to keep your leading shoulder “down” on the ball through impact.  This is called staying strong through impact. Lots of times the leading shoulder (left shoulder if right handed) flies up before impact. Now just for a minute, think about what that does to the club head when it’s in the impact zone.

Golf is all about thinking and analyzing your shots to get better. A huge part of this game is understanding “why” you’re getting a certain result, and the physics behind that result. Thinking through your golf swing will provide huge dividends if you’re willing to invest the time it takes.

Get up from the computer and actually go though the motions slowly. Let your leading shoulder fly up as you approach impact and you’ll actually be able feel and see the clubface coming from an outside-in path. That causes a slice every time.

So what can you do to correct it? Well, as I said before, try to learn to keep your leading shoulder strong. Keep that shoulder “down” on the ball all the way through impact, even after the ball is gone and flying straight down the fairway.

Golf Slice Cure Tip #2 – Initiate The Downswing With Your Arms.  I’m sure that’s the exact opposite of what you’ve heard before. Starting the downswing with the arms is a tough thing to do.  You want the ball to go the maximum possible distance. So subconsciously, many people have the problem of letting their body get way ahead of their hands. That’s the number one slice-producing move among golfers today. It’s probably the toughest one to fix, because when you’re at the top of your backswing, all you can think about is crushing the ball.

Instead of thinking maximum distance, think minimize slice. Start the downswing with your arms. Get to the top of your backswing, and then the first move should be with the arms. Put this move together with keeping the leading shoulder down, and it will do wonders for both your woods and your irons.

If you look at any of the really good players, you will see that they actually initiate the downswing by “pulling” the club down with their arms.  They do NOT start the downswing by twisting the chest towards the target.  That is a very important distinction to make.

Ok, that’s all for today, I hope these Golf Slice Cure Tips help you improve your game.

TaylorMade Burner XD Iron Set With Fantastic Distance

TaylorMade Burner XD Iron Set With Fantastic Distance

Article by Golfdiscountsale2

The Burner XD irons feature a stainless steel body for added perimeter weighting with a Titanium face welded to this frame. What you get is not only a hot face, but given the lightweight Titanium, extra mass around the club face to be moved low and away to create a hot, high launch ball flight. The TaylorMade Burner XD irons are the only irons with Burner speed, Burner power and Burner distance. Targeted at distance fanatics, the Taylormade Burner XD irons deliver up to eight more yards when compared to the average iron, thanks in part to their thin and flexible titanium faces.Features: 1. Thin, flexible and fast titanium clubfaces deliver higher COR (coefficient of restitution) for faster ball speed and therefore, longer distance. 2. SuperFast technology provides more clubhead speed for more ball speed and more distance. 3. Inverted Cone Technology is proven driver technology that expands the high COR zone for higher ball speed on mis-hits for more distance from shot to shot. 4. Extra large clubhead and a deep cavity give the Burner XD irons an ultra-high MOI (moment of inertia), making them extremely forgiveable and easy-to-hit.TaylorMade has packed a lot of that technology into the Burner XD irons. The company calls the Burner XD “The Only Iron with Burner Speed, Burner Power, and Burner Distance.””Super” is a description that is near and dear to the Burner marketing folks. The Burner XD irons feature “Supersized” clubheads and “SuperFast Technology.” The first helps make them forgiving and the second is all about distance. The R7 CGB Max and Burner XD irons have the same offset across the board. Visually, it almost looks as if the Callaway X-20s have a tad more offset in the 7 iron at least, but that may just be an optical illusion kind of thing going on. If you have a problem with slicing the ball, not being able to turn it over, the offset should help straighten things out for you, especially in the longer irons. If you’re accustomed to playing with little to no offset, you may pull and/or hook the ball a bit, until you can adjust to it. Not a huge deal. The first ball I hit with these irons was a 145 yard PW that just seemed to fly forever. (PING G15 Driver) Normally I hit my PW about 135..in the summer. It’s a little colder now, the ball doesn’t fly quite as well. I put a decent swing on the club, certainly nothing perfect, the ball rocketed off the face, pretty high, landed around 145. Crazy. Now, that being said, the lofts on the Burner XD irons are jacked up a bit. At 44*, you’re almost playing a 9 iron that has been labeled a PW. (Ping G15 Hybrid) The ball did still get way up there though, and stopped very quickly. I liked the more upright lie angle, this helps prevent the toe from digging in and hitting shots out to the right for the average player. The trajectory was a little lower than I would have expected for all the weight placed behind the ball, but it was manageable. I found that working the ball was not an option unless your idea of working it is to hit a head high duck hook!Suffice it to say, I was consistently hitting these irons what I’d call “summer distance,” though almost all of my rounds with these were in cooler temperatures. I felt pretty safe playing these to go five to 10 yards farther than a good shot with my irons. All in all, the Burner XDs do what they are supposed to do. They launch the ball on a mid to high trajectory, and they are pretty long as irons go. But really the best thing about the Burner irons is that you can make less than stellar contact all day long, and it won’t hurt you too badly. If these had a more solid feel to them, they’d probably sell a ton of them.More information at http://www.mygolfcheap.com/cheap-TaylorMade-Burner-XD-Iron-Set-906.html
