Another feature that should never be forgotten is the position of the hand and the wrist. Wrong positioning of the hand or the wrist can cause a twisted club in your hand. This will result in the striking of the ball at an angle and not dead centre, making the ball to go in any direction except the one it should – straight ahead. Practice till you get it correct every time.

The best hand position is to interlock your hands with the little and ring fingers of your dominant hand connected to the index finger and middle finger of your complimentary hand (it is not called the weak hand). With a little practice, your problem should be solved. If you get this hand position correct, you can improve on accuracy and distance.

Straighten Your Spine

Keep your spine straight and let it act as the axis of your pivot. This is something that no golfer should underestimate when it comes the execution of the proper golf swing. Now that you have got your spine acting as an axis and your hands interlocked and firmly gripping the club, you must concentrate on removing the rotation of the hip in your quest for the proper golf swing. Golf is not boxing where a lot of punch can come from the swinging of the hips. If you swing your hips in golf, you will get only your slice and your hook. Therefore keep your hip rotation to a minimum. But this is not the beginning and the end of golf.
