Grooving Your Swing

Grooving Your Swing

The key to hitting longer, straighter drives is squaring your clubface at impact. Anything less this results in either a weak drive or a slice or pull. To ensure you attain the correct impact position, your swing must be mechanically flawless or you must make pre-impact adjustments on the fly.

But making adjustments is not conducive to generating low scores or a low golf handicap. In fact, on-the-fly adjustments tend to do just the opposite, since they create a lot of opportunity for error. The goal then is to hone your swing so it is as technically perfect as you can make—not an easy task. Below are some drills that will help you grove your swing.

Triangle Takeaway DrillThe takeaway may be the most important move in the swing. It encourages good positions throughout the swing, increases your chances of executing a perfect swing, and delivers the clubhead squarely to the ball at impact—the key to hitting longer, straighter drives. This drill teaches you to stay connected during your swing, grove a one-piece takeaway, and employ a fuller body turn, creating added power:

Grip your driver a few inches below the club’s handle. Place the club’s butt end gently against your stomach at a point just above your navel. Now practice making small swings. Concentrate on keeping your arms close to your body with the club touching your navel. A lot of golf teachers use this drill in their golf lessons to help beginners groove the proper takeaway.

Thumbs-Up DrillThe next important phase of the swing after the takeaway is the backswing and the coking of the wrists. A mistake at this point in your swing causes a dramatically negative domino effect, with the club ending up well behind the body on the backswing. That in turn eliminates the chance of achieving square clubface-to-ball contact at impact.

Take your address position without a club. Swing back to chest level as if you had a club in your hands, making certain that your thumbs are angled up toward the sky. Hold that position for a few seconds, so you remember it and physically feel and grove it. Next, swing through to chest level, again making sure that your thumbs point at the sky. Practice this drill several times a day.

In-The-Slot-DrillPlayers who fail to find the right slot in their downswing fail to have a square clubface at impact. Unfortunately, some players release their right wrist (left wrist for left-handers) and/or right elbow (left for left-handers) much too early in the downswing, causing a weak misdirected slice. This drill teaches you to maintain the proper wrist and elbow hinge until you reach the impact zone.

Take your address position and then swing the club to the top. Hold that position briefly. Now start unwinding your hips on the downswing. Simultaneously, drop your elbow down in front of your back hip then freeze this position. Feel the position of your arms but do not uncock the wrists. This move trains your wrist to remain cocked and teaches you to feel the sensation of delaying the hit, without feeling the need to pull on the butt end of the club.

Stop-And-Go DrillOne of the biggest mistakes weekend golfers make is triggering their downswing with either a violent body move or an exaggerated lower body slide. As a result, the player tends to come into the impact area with the clubface wide open and slice the ball severely. This drill teaches you to make a smooth transition and synchronize the downswing move with the rest of your body.

Take your address position and then swing the club back, stopping at the top of your stroke. Be sure at this stage to check that your weight is balanced. Hold that position for a few seconds. Next, complete the swing and trigger a perfect chain reaction by rotating your hips and legs smoothly toward the target. Many teachers use this drill during golf instruction sessions to teach an efficient, on plane move and for promoting good balance during the swing.

The Twenty DrillSome golfers lose power on the downswing because they fail to accelerate their arms during this phase of the swing. As a result, the player hits balls much shorter than they should. The goal with this drill is to teach the player to swing the clubhead powerfully, so that by the time the club makes it to impact it is moving at high speed, enabling you to hit the ball longer with better height and carry.

Use your driver for this drill. Take your address position. Now swing the club back and through to the finish twenty times in a row without stopping. Ideally, you want to remain flat-footed through the impact zone. Some players are able to swing the club all the way through into the finish while remaining flat-footed. Swing as fast as possible. Do 20 swings in the morning and then 20 swings at night.

None of these drills require you to go to the practice range or the course. You can do them in your backyard or in your house or office. Work on the drills as often as you can. They’ll help you achieve lower scores and whittle down that golf handicap.

Funny metaphors aside, the Latitude series are nicely designed laptops. We are particularly fond of the backlit keyboard, which is comfortable to type on. As is common in many laptops, the Latitude series feature both a ‘nipple’ mouse and a trackpad. Dell’s Latitude trackpads are worth commenting on, as they feature a range of different options, including circular scrolling. The trackpad features can be customised from a central interface.

The 13.3 inch display on the E4300 has a 1,280×800 native resolution, and comes with a matte finish. At the base of the display is the ambient light sensor (DELL Latitude E4300 batteries) , which is a handy feature for conserving battery life. If you prefer your display bright, you can simply disable it via keyboard shortcut. Like every laptop we have seen in recent history, there is a webcam at the top of the display.

On the far right below the keyboard is a fingerprint reader, which is thankfully placed far enough away that you don’t brush it when you’re typing. There are no external speakers on the E4300, unlike its larger sibling the E6500. This means tinny sound from an internal speaker, but that’s a small price to pay for a comfortable keyboard on a laptop only slightly bigger than a netbook.

Performance and Features
The E4300 features the same strange, graphical BIOS we saw in the E6500, which we assume to be Linux-powered. It also features “Latitude On”, which is accessed by a small button next to the power button on the top right-hand side. Latitude On allows you to quickly access your Microsoft Outlook contacts, calendar and email, as an alternative to having to wait for Windows to boot. Our test of the system took less than ten seconds. However (Cheap HW901 11.1V,6 cell 3 cell Laptop Batteries, battery for DELL HW901), by moving to an SSD hard drive, you may find the boot time on this laptop so zippy that you won’t use it much.

Port options on the E4300 are a mixed bag, with a number of ports lost compared to the larger E6500, such as Display Port. There’s no dial-up modem  http://www.laptop-battery.org.uk/laptopbattery/asus.htm   , but we’re not sure if anyone will miss it. You also only get one USB port, which could be a real pain. Dell compromises by offering a dual eSATA/USB port on top of this, which allows you to plug in external devices as if they were an internal SATA II device.

This means that external storage finally sees good speeds, not only reducing the amount of time you need to spend transferring files, but also makes running applications off external drives a pleasure, whether installed normally or using software such as VMWare’s ThinApp. Other port options include a FireWire (IEEE 1394) port and 3.5mm audio in/out jacks.  http://www.laptop-batteries.com.au/computer-battery/dell-hw892.htm

There’s also an optical drive, a positive as these start to disappear when laptops approach this size. On the front of the device there is a MicroSD card reader, while on the left hand side there is an SC card slot, along with a contactless SC reader next to the mouse pad.

Dell’s Latitude series adheres to Intel’s Centrino 2 platform, meaning you can expect wireless N as standard, along with better power management, performance, and graphics capabilities. Our system came configured with an Intel Core 2 Duo SP9400 at 2.5GHz (a grunty 45nm Penryn generation CPU), and 2GB of 1066MHz DDR3 RAM. This makes it quite a performer for its size, delivering a PCMark05 score of 4,513.

Those seeking more performance can upgrade to 4GB of RAM for AU5, but sadly there is no 64-bit Windows option on the Dell site to take full advantage of this. Those seeking a 64-bit OS will need to upgrade and re-install.  http://www.laptop-batteries.com.au/computer-battery/dell-xx327.htm

An unfortunate side effect of the power of this laptop is the considerable amount of heat it puts out. After using this laptop for the best part of a day, you will find it uncomfortably hot on your lap. Left-handers might also find it uncomfortable, as the placement of the air vent means it will jet very hot air onto your hand if you use an external mouse. http://www.laptop-batteries.com.au/computer-battery/dell-312-0823.htm

There are three different batteries available on the E4300, a 4-cell standard battery, a 6-cell which sticks out the back, and an additional 6-cell “battery slice” which adds more thickness to base of the laptop. You can combine the battery slice with either of the other two for extra battery power. Our system came with a single 56 Whr, 6-cell battery.

In order to test battery life, we set screen brightness to 50 per cent and then played a DVD. This is a taxing test, and the E4300 gave an above average result of 200 minutes. One might extrapolate from this that the dual 6-cell configuration would give up to 400 minutes of battery life, which is an absurdly massive amount. However bear in mind that the addition of a the battery slice would increase the weight of the laptop considerably.  http://www.cheap-laptop-batteries.com/laptop-battery/dell-312-0822.htm

One unfortunate feature of the E4300 is the 160GB HDD which came with our review model, which is on the small side. Hard drive upgrade options max out at a 250GB 7500 RPM SATA II drive for an additional AU3. If your surname happens to be Soros, Buffett or Branson

Our system came with a Windows Vista Business license with Windows XP (SP3) pre-installed as a “downgrade”. Ultimate is available for an additional sum of AU6. Pre-installed software includes the Google Desktop and Toolbar (which seems to be ubiquitous on Dell’s PCs), Roxio DVD burning software and a few other small inclusions. Dell gets points for not installing any trial software on the system.

Graphics on the system are provided by Intel’s GS45 chipset, which forms part of the Centrino 2 platform. While the new chip is much improved from previous generations, this is still no gaming or graphics machine. If you want strong graphics performance consider a different, and likely larger system.

Melt And Pour Soap Making – How Safe & Easy Is It?

Melt And Pour Soap Making – How Safe & Easy Is It?

Although soap making has been done by so many soap makers for such a long time already, there are restrictions into it such as with regards to the application of lye. Some soap makers have stopped making soap due to the risk involve in using this ingredient. There are different processes in soap making. An interesting method is melt and pour soap making that does not involve using lye.

Melt and pour involves liquefying a soap base and putting in fragrance oils ahead of pouring the mixture in molds. Melt and pour soap making can be done at home. What’s great about it is it does not use the lye substance that might cause injury and skin complications. It is faster than any conventional way of producing soap since it does not involve curing.

To do the melt and pour soap making procedure, you need a soap base which can be purchased from specialty shops and establishments offering soap making ingredients and tools. You can also order these needed items from online shops and mostly, these can already be delivered to your door steps after you put the order and paid for it. Beginners should make sure to have all the soap making supplies required to go through the process smoothly.

To begin with your melt and pour soap making procedure, get the soap base block and slice it into smaller pieces. Melt these slices in your trusty microwave or double boiler. Just as the soap melts, the colors and scents can be added and when melted the mixture can then be poured into the soap molds which you had readied. Wait for a maximum of two hours and it will then be ready for use.

For an organic soap, melt and pour soap making is also applicable. The procedure is the same. First, get an all-natural soap base and follow the rest of the instructions. Opting for an all-natural soap makes you convinced that the soap will be beneficial to your skin with lesser harsh chemical used. Find organic soap bases as well as organic colors and fragrances. Look for fancy-shaped molds which you like best.

Organic melt and pour soap making goes similar with making a regular soap. Simply follow the tips mentioned above. Pour mixture in your preferred molds and make them set. Unmold the soap by popping it carefully and when you’re done, you can now use your own soap for your regular baths.

As recently as Aug. 28, the San Francisco Giants trailed by six games in the NL West. That deficit is now down to one and a series with the Arizona Diamondbacks could help the Giants climb to the top of their division before a pivotal showdown.

San Francisco will first try to take a share of that lead with its fifth consecutive road victory over the last-place Diamondbacks in Monday’s opener of a three-game set.

The Giants (76-61) have the fifth-best record in the majors since July 4 at 35-21 but have benefited more of late from San Diego’s stunning 10-game slide. In that time, San Francisco has sliced four games off the Padres’ lead by winning five of seven, including Sunday’s 3-0 victory at Los Angeles.

The Giants, who have a 2.21 ERA over the last six games, limited the Dodgers to three hits, and Juan Uribe homered for the second straight contest. His two-run shot in the ninth inning Saturday lifted San Francisco to a 5-4 win.

“This is big to come in here and take a series,” manager Bruce Bochy said.

San Francisco hasn’t seen first place since May 6 and has a chance to claim that spot for good with four games in San Diego beginning Thursday. First, though, the Giants will try to add to their recent success against the Diamondbacks (56-81).

San Francisco has won 21 of 30 meetings since the start of last season and 10 of 15 in Arizona. They hold an 8-4 edge in this season’s series.

Arizona, however, took two of three from San Francisco on Aug. 27-29 as part of a 7-1 stretch but has dropped consecutive games heading into this series. The Diamondbacks went 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position in Sunday’s 3-2 loss to Houston.

The Diamondbacks hope for better production Monday but that could be difficult if top power hitter Mark Reynolds and outfielder Justin Upton are out. Reynolds left in the ninth inning of Sunday’s loss after aggravating a bone bruise in his right hand, and Upton has missed the past five games with an ailing left shoulder.

Should Reynolds and Upton miss the opener, Madison Bumgarner (5-4, 3.76 ERA) will try to take advantage by earning his second win in as many starts against Arizona. The left-hander allowed two runs over seven innings during a 10-4 victory at Chase Field on July 24 and is coming off one of his better outings this season.

After getting tagged for eight runs by Cincinnati on Aug. 25, he yielded one run and five hits over six innings Tuesday against Colorado but did not get a decision in a 5-2 win.

Ian Kennedy (9-9, 4.20) will try to outduel Bumgarner while extending his career-best win streak to four. The right-hander has a 2.77 ERA over his last four starts and gave up three runs over seven innings in Tuesday’s 7-4 win over San Diego.

Kennedy is 1-1 with a 3.05 ERA in three starts this season against San Francisco and gave up four runs over 6 2/3 innings during the July 24 loss.

Two Tips to Help You Shake off the Slice

Two Tips to Help You Shake off the Slice

Are you playing a round of slice golf? I bet you wish that you could play on the same course . Right? Well, put down the revolver and step away from the clubhouse, there is help at hand. As a golf player foe a lot of years now, my most serious problem is that of the slicing the ball, leading to personal disappointment and laughs for our golfing companions.

Until recently, I displayed a very sloppy and really quite scary swing, trying anything to stop the slice situation, yet this got tiny influence on the total trajectory of the relentless ball. Our handicap kept ‘off the scale’ excessive no matter what I did so, and I could have been recently greater appropriate playing with a falconry gauntlet rather than any golf handwear cover, ruining one handwear cover right after the subsequent, in fast sequence. Right after reluctantly trying any recent approach, which usually involved any totally diverse method, our game swiftly changed, and pleasingly for the smarter. I simply wish I got tried that sooner. Here are usually two tips which have helped myself through and should furthermore help you grow to be any right present shooter.

First: Are your arms too loose? In that case, it is not likely that you will be able to retain a directly swing plane and hit the ball straight. Completely focus then, on keeping your left arm inflexible, knee closed, so that you can have a relatively immediately swing plane through the ball. If your arms are usually too shed and moving erratically most above the put, that is extremely improbable which you can push the ball in its intended route, and you may well probably not also raise that off the terrace. Thus, picture a smooth swing plane and adjust your arms before you take the shot. Try not to retain them too tight even though, just firm, like you have too much pressure, you will have to place more effort in, and the probability is that you can not have a rhythmical movements on the downswing. If this happens, a clean hit are usually really fortunate.

Second: Do not forget to go mental. One of the most important things of golf is to keep your spirits up when you face the adversity. Having a optimistic emotional mindset is good to winning the combat with the tiny pipsqueak, the golf balls. Convincing yourself you are the manager and in charge of IT which could perform superior for you. Learn to relax, think about the pointers for your swing, completely focus, and effortlessly sock that to the tiny, spherical risk. You can do that. Bear in mind, this is how you find your kicks and why you are usually playing this wonderful game in the first place.

How To Correct Your Golf Slice

How To Correct Your Golf Slice

Golf can be a frustrating game.  Today we’re going to analyze one of the most frustrating parts of the game: The golf slice. We’ll also show you how you can correct your golf slice.

What’s happening:

Golfers are slamming their clubs on the ground, uttering four-letter words and having a miserable time on the tee-box!  Why?  Because they are slicing the ball!  If this is happening to you, you aren’t alone.  Golf slices are a big problem for most golfers.

What is a slice?

A slice occurs when you hit a shot, and it spins off to the right.  (to the left for lefties).  This often occurs when the club face is open, and the path of the golf club comes from the wrong angle.  This usually happens when your club is on an outside-to-inside path as the club nears the ball.  If your clubface is open while on that outside-to-inside path, the slice can be extreme!

How to correct your golf slice

It’s one thing to know what is happening.  How are you going to fix it?

We have a few quick tests that will help you correct your golf slice.

1.  The Rope Test — when your hands are at the top of your backswing, imagine that you are holding a rope that is attached to a tree straight in front of you.  Now your object is to pull the rope straight down.  As you begin the downswing, you want that same straight down motion.  This will force your right elbow to stay close to your body, and prevent you from going “outside-in” with your swing motion.

2.  The Box test — Get a long, skinny box, and lay it on the ground.  You will be hitting the end of the box with your driver.  Your goal is to make the box go straight in front of you.  If you hit the end of the box and it goes to the right or the left, than your swing is off.  This is a good way to test new enhancements to your swing if you can’t make it to the driving range.

3.  The Tennis test — If you’ve ever tried to put topspin on a tennis ball, you know that you have to turn over the racket as you hit the ball.  This same rolling of the wrists needs to happen when you hit a golf ball.  As you are impacting the ball, make sure that your right hand ends up on top of your left hand.  Just as you want that to happen in tennis to get topspin, your goal in striking a golf shot is to roll the hands.  When you roll the hands over properly, you can be sure that you are closing the face of the club, when will severely decrease the likelihood of a slice.

Hopefully these tests gleaned from years of experience by golf professionals, can help you to correct your golf slice.

I have a number of additional tips that can significantly improve your game. Many people have found these to be extremely helpful in getting rid of the dreaded slice, so please check them out below!

Smashing It Straight

Smashing It Straight

Some players drive the ball 250 yards or more every time, but they can’t keep it on the fairway. The harder they try to stay on the fairway, the more they hook it. As a result, they find themselves in a clump of trees or under a bush, without a good second shot, hurting their golf handicap. They’ve taken golf lessons and read golf tips. And they’ve tried throttling back. But they still can’t cure their big hook.

If that’s you, read on. There’s a simple way to cure the problem. All you have to do is make a minor change in your grip—one pioneered by golfing great Ben Hogan. The change takes a little getting used to, as most adjustments do, so you’ll have to hit a few buckets of balls to get comfortable with it. But once you do, you’ll hit the ball straighter than before with just as much power. And you’ll shave strokes off your golf handicap.

A Smasher’s Instinct

Hogan had a smasher’s instinct. When he was on the tee, the right-hander didn’t want to just drive the ball well. He wanted to crush it. He wanted to hit it out of sight. And for a small guy, he hit it a long way. But like many big hitters, Hogan had problems with direction. Whenever he tried to throttle back, he just made things worse. Throttling back just wasn’t in his nature.

But a simple change in his grip transformed him from Captain Hook to Captain Power Fade. Hogan realized that by weakening his grip a bit, he could control his hook and still hit the ball as hard as he wanted. Rather than fight a strong, three-knuckle grip, he decided to change grips. He turned his left hand so that he only saw one knuckle at address while his right palm faced the target. The change let him smash the ball without hooking it.

The change was exactly what Hogan needed. It transformed his game. By the time he retired in 1971, he was not only one of the most feared golfers of his time, he also one of the best of all time. After turning pro in 1929, he won 64 PGA Tour championships. Of these, nine were major championship wins—4 masters, 2 U.S Opens, 1 British Open, and 2 PGA Championships.

Strong Forearms Helped

Keep in mind though that Hogan had very strong forearms. They allowed him to take a weak grip and still square the clubhead at impact. If you don’t have strong forearms, you may want to adjust your grip so that you see one and one-half knuckles on your left hand at address. Then place your right hand on the club so that the palm is facing the target, like Hogan did.

Like most changes, this new grip takes getting used to. Hit balls on the practice range with the grip before trying it on the course. You’ll probably slice a few before getting the hang of it. But the more you let your right side in the swing, if you’re right-handed, the smaller the slice will be. Vice versa for left-handers. And since you can’t hook it, swing as aggressively as you like. You’ll still hit a fade. And you’ll probably still end up on the fairway.

Henry Cotton’s Tire Drill

To get used to hitting the ball with a weak left-handed grip, try one of Henry Cotton’s favorite drills. Cotton was a great player and teacher. He got his students used to hitting with a weak left-handed grip by having them hit an old tire. Here’s how:

Grab an old iron. Grip it with your left hand, so that no more than one and one-half knuckles show. Lay the tire down where you’d tee the ball. Now take some swings with your left arm only. If you’re left-handed, use your right arm.

How can you tell if you’re closing the clubface when you hit the tire? Don’t worry, you’ll know. If the clubface is closed, you’ll feel solid contact. If it’s open, you’ll feel an extra shock in your arm. Use this drill sparingly to prevent injury. You don’t want to injure yourself during a practice session.

Mastering this change in grip conquers the hook for big hitters. Of course, taking a few golf lessons and reading golf tips can’t hurt, either. But the change in grip is something you can do right now. Just have a little patience. The change feels strange at first, but once assimilated, it helps lower golf handicaps. It also puts the fun back in driving the ball.

Something for the weekend

Something for the weekend

Article by Cheapgolf

When you go for a custom-fitting session, as I did yesterday, at Titleist’s state-of-the art facility at St Ives Golf Club, it’s important to ideally bring your ‘A game’ to the bay (or as near as possible) so the clubs you’re planning to use, can compliment your current swing.

Obviously faults can creep in but PGA-trained fitter Richard Harries gave me a tip he always used in the early part of his amateur career Callaway FT I-Bird Irons helps to square the shoulders at address and reduces the risk of them opening up to the target as you grip the club, forcing a tendency to slice.

He recommends: “As a right-hander I was always encouraged to grip the club with the left hand and place the clubhead behind the ball, with my right hand behind my back.

“This way, the teaching pro watching from down the line, could see the correct position of the inside of my left elbow with my shoulders square to the target. Step two is to then bring in the right hand on to the grip from underneath the shaft and into position.

“TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons helps retain the shoulders in a square position, as opposed to immediately putting the right hand on top of the grip and tending to force the shoulders open.” Hopefully it’s a tip that will work for you, too and immediately reduce the chances of that destructive out-to-in swingpath which can cause the dreaded slice.

Experts said Joe’s swing was ugly – too wide with toes at right angles to his target (instead of slightly splayed) – and that he got himself airborne at impact. But boy was it effective. And he used the massive power and momentum he generated in his follow through to launch the ball consistently long against allcomers, using a Krank Golf Rage drive to deliver a ball speed of 225 mph.

In the final he met 16-year-old American Joe Mazza, with his far more orthodox golf swing, but the youngster was no match for Miller. As the huge stadium crowd held their breath Miller blasted his tee shot down the right centre and it looked to be heading just out of bounds until TaylorMade R7 Draw Irons took a ‘members’ bounce’ left and rolled out to the 410 yard marker.

Mazza could only reply with a drive of 371 yards, enabling Miller to claim the 0,000 winner’s cheque. “I don’t know what to say,” said an almost speechless Miller. “I came together in my last round and got a great bounce to the left to stay in bounds. It is a dream come true.”

Ten Steps In the Reflux Remedy Report

Ten Steps In the Reflux Remedy Report

Article by Alfonzo Frank Torrecuso

The Heartburn and Reflux Remedy Report is a brief report, that illustrates you literally how to get rid of your heartburn/acid reflux characteristically using a couple of products you have probably already got in your kitchen cupboard. And with no hurtful side effects.

Did you know that drugs like Nexium, Tagamet, Omeprazole, Prevacid, and Zantac are only supposed to be used for 8 weeks at the most? There is a rationale for that…You can avoid taking any more drugs and indeed cure your acid reflux using a natural home remedy! You will save a lot of money too…Thousands of persons have already discovered this pure, easy cure… There is no reason why you should not try out a natural home remedy – after all, there are NO Side Effects, no Drugs to take, It Works fast, and you will save money and restore your health in no time at all!

Here are a few suggestions taken from a reflux remedy report:

– Try eating a bowl of watermelon after each meal. It happily works every time!!!!!!!! and as a final point something that tastes great!

– Drink a glass of water with 2 teaspoons of Sugar. You can drink as many glass as you want, or need to. And this has repeatedly done the trick.

– Use green tea as a remedy and it has worked 100% of the time. By means of doing this and not eating before going to bed you can have a long and normal life. Its a cheap, tasty, and relaxing remedy. Drinking cup of green tea (or camamille tea) twice a day, in the morning and at bed time and you will notice a tremendous diminution in acid build up.

– Try drinking organic or raw organic milk during an occurrence of acid reflux. It soothes the burn and anguish. It does not take much but drink at least half a cup or more. Repeat throughout the day and prior to and after meals too.

– Try munching a nice apple. You do not need to eat a whole apple… just one slice would be enough to solve the issue. So, with the apple, you can have a reflux remedy.

– Any kind of mustard will cover the acid in your stomach. Take a spoonful of mustard and let it slide slowly down your throat, covering it (do not swallow it immediately). You will feel immediate, fast relief.

– When you’re if truth be told in agony, just imbibe 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. It will burn for a second or two, but after a couple of minutes you’ll feel much better.

Golf Slice Cures: Use This Tip and Cure Your Golf Slice For Good

Do you have a golf slice that you just can’t seem to get rid of?  Are you tired of sending your shots into the woods and losing dozens of balls?  Well, here is a really good tip that may help you cure that golf slice once and for all.  Best of all, it’s really pretty simple once you get the hang of it and understand why it is being used.

Did you know that more than 70 percent of golfers struggle with slicing the ball at some point in their golf career?  Dealing with a slice is not fun and it can hurt your golf game in several ways.  The good news is, it’s fairly easy to correct it.  I cannot claim that this small tip will COMPLETELY cure your slice, but there is a good chance that it will, and I hope it does.

When you come into the impact zone, there are really only 2 factors that can determine the “shape” of ball flight.

 1. The angle of the club face at impact.

2. The Path the club is taking at impact.

You’d agree, that’s really not that tough to understand. The tough part is explaining how to correct it, and keeping this article short at the same time. Anyway, here’s a few things you should concentrate on:

Golf Slice Cure Tip #1 – Try to keep your leading shoulder “down” on the ball through impact.  This is called staying strong through impact. Lots of times the leading shoulder (left shoulder if right handed) flies up before impact. Now just for a minute, think about what that does to the club head when it’s in the impact zone.

Golf is all about thinking and analyzing your shots to get better. A huge part of this game is understanding “why” you’re getting a certain result, and the physics behind that result. Thinking through your golf swing will provide huge dividends if you’re willing to invest the time it takes.

Get up from the computer and actually go though the motions slowly. Let your leading shoulder fly up as you approach impact and you’ll actually be able feel and see the clubface coming from an outside-in path. That causes a slice every time.

So what can you do to correct it? Well, as I said before, try to learn to keep your leading shoulder strong. Keep that shoulder “down” on the ball all the way through impact, even after the ball is gone and flying straight down the fairway.

Golf Slice Cure Tip #2 – Initiate The Downswing With Your Arms.  I’m sure that’s the exact opposite of what you’ve heard before. Starting the downswing with the arms is a tough thing to do.  You want the ball to go the maximum possible distance. So subconsciously, many people have the problem of letting their body get way ahead of their hands. That’s the number one slice-producing move among golfers today. It’s probably the toughest one to fix, because when you’re at the top of your backswing, all you can think about is crushing the ball.

Instead of thinking maximum distance, think minimize slice. Start the downswing with your arms. Get to the top of your backswing, and then the first move should be with the arms. Put this move together with keeping the leading shoulder down, and it will do wonders for both your woods and your irons.

If you look at any of the really good players, you will see that they actually initiate the downswing by “pulling” the club down with their arms.  They do NOT start the downswing by twisting the chest towards the target.  That is a very important distinction to make.

Ok, that’s all for today, I hope these Golf Slice Cure Tips help you improve your game.
